“i remember the day i told you i was pregnant. i expected you to get up, to walk out, like any other teenager would have. but instead you...you wrapped your arm around my shoulders, pulled me closer, and asked me how i was feeling. i remember crying into your shirt, and you rubbing circles in my back and promising that you’d stand by me, whatever i chose.” by this time there were tears, and a brief pause while she collected herself.
“that’s when i knew i wanted to spend the rest of my life with you. you gave me our beautiful son, and you’ve always been there for both of us.” she glanced at yero, their best man, and her heart felt like it just might burst out of her chest. and she finally realized why people had such huge ceremonies. this...this was something worth celebrating.
she took his hands in hers, smile soft as she began the most important part. “i, karolina sage, take you, myles o’hare, to be my forever. i promise to always be there when you need me, to treat you with the respect you deserve, and to communicate feelings. i promise that no matter how bad an argument may get, we will never go to bed angry at each other. i promise that even if the entire world is against you, i will stand by your side. to love you, even when it’s hard.”
she slipped the ring onto his finger, and listened to his vows. and finally, with teary eyes and a glowing feeling in her chest, they whispered they’re ‘i do’s,’ before lips melted together in a soft kiss.
