The Radio Hour is back with a new album: "Tim Hort."
The Radio Hour is back with a new studio album titled "Tim Hort." This release has ten songs, including the opener, "Heartbreaks and Slamming Doors," which immediately gives the listener a sense of what to expect from this release. The song highlights The Radio Hours' indie-folk aesthetic. The chord progression is reminiscent of the 60s, with a seamless arrangement that allows the vocals to really stand out.
There are so many different textures on the album. For instance, the track "When I'm Sick and Need You" is a scorching alt-rocker with loud guitars and catchy riffs, perfectly in sync with The Radio Hour's vocal layers. There are so many fantastic songs on this album, but this record perhaps shines in its most intimate moments. The song "Rollercoaster" is a great example. The track starts bare-bones, with nothing but a guitar and The Radio Hour's voice. The arrangement remains simple and direct throughout the song, but it really doesn't need anything more. This album is a great reminder of the amazing beauty of simplicity and how great songs actually don't need a lot more than a voice and a guitar.
