30 Days of Domestic Fluff: Day Nineteen - Forgetting Something
Summary: After getting injured Kon forgets their anniversary but Tim doesn’t care about that, he’s just glad Kon’s alive.
Enjoy! :D
Tim carefully balances everything on the tray using his ninja skills he had picked up after years of training to keep everything from spilling. He’s carrying a tray full of light breakfast bites and a coffee. Kon was in bed and Tim wanted to surprise him.
It’s a special day for them, it being their 5 year anniversary.
Well it’s been 5 years since they started dating, of course they’ve been friends for much longer than that.
It’s not the way Tim, or even Kon, wanted to celebrate it but just two weeks ago an attack on the world happened. It had been an all hands on deck situation. They had won thankfully and with no deaths accounted for, however there were several cases of severe injuries. Kon had been one of them.
Despite the battle being two weeks ago and how his boyfriend was a half Kryptonian, Kon was till recovering. He was getting stronger everyday but at first it was touch and go, but he was moving in the right direction of getting better and that’s all Tim could ask for.
Tim basically had a heart attack when he first heard about Kon, there was no way he could go through losing his best friend – now boyfriend - again. Thank the gods that was not a reality he has to live through again this time.
He pushes the door to their bedroom open and goes inside, Kon was still asleep so Tim places the tray carefully down on his bedside table and climbs onto the bed. He straddles Kon over the covers and bends down to pepper his face with kisses. He feels mildly bad for waking his boyfriend up, but this was a special occasion so there’s a little bit of leeway.
After a moment Kon groans and a hand comes up, it slaps Tim weakly before falling down. Tim chuckles, “Wakey wakey sleepy head,” he whispers.
Kon cracks an eye open and looks at him, he gives Tim a weak smile, “Hey, morning.” He frowns then and closes his eyes, “Why you waking me up?”
Tim carries on smiling, he presses a kiss to Kon’s cheek, “Because it’s a special occasion. I made breakfast.”
That gets Kon to open his eyes back up, Tim could easily see the confusion in them. “What? What’s the occasion?”
Kon starts shifting himself up into a sitting position so Tim gets off him. he grabs the tray and once Kon is up right Tim places it in the meta’s lap and steadies it.
Tim observes Kon as he looks over the breakfast and smiles softly as he sees Kon trying to work out what it’s all about. Tim saves him the pain by saying, “Happy anniversary.”
The look of surprise, shock and then guilt crosses Kon’s face.
“That’s today? Shit Tim, I didn’t realise! I haven’t gotten you anything, with everything that’s happened I’ve completely forgotten. God I feel so bad, I’ve gotta-”
Tim cuts him off by placing a hand over Kon’s lips. “No. None of that Kon. I don’t care. You’ve been in and out of consciousness over the last two weeks. I don’t care okay.”
Kon’s lips move underneath his palm and Tim glares at him, daring his boyfriend to protest. When he doesn’t Tim gives him a look. “You’re here, you’re alive, that’s enough of a present for me. Once you’re back on your feet we’ll celebrate properly,” he sits back and gestures to the tray, “for now enjoy breakfast in bed.”
“I feel bad though!” Kon whines. “Thank you Tim it looks great. Once I’m back to normal we’ll definitely celebrate properly.”
“Exactly. So for now, enjoy it and don’t feel bad!”
Kon gives him a look which says exactly what he’s thinking. He’s going to feel guilty over it until he makes it up to Tim.
Tim doesn’t care though. Kon’s alive and he couldn’t be happier, that’s the perfect present he could ask for.
