When the West Won 1993

C Mike Piazza won the National League rookie of the year award after slashing .318 BA / .370 OBP / .561 SLG / 153 adjusted OPS, with 35 home runs, 112 RBIs and 6.0 bWAR.

RF Tim Salmon won the American League version with a .283 BA / .382 OBP / .536 SLG / 143 adjusted OPS, with 31 home runs, 35 doubles, 95 RBIs and 5.1 bWAR. 

In the same AL rookie class, current Angels GM Jerry Dipoto finished eighth on the ballot as a relief pitcher for the Cleveland Indians.

It's almost like Trout and Puig coming up the same year -- except one of them was a catcher.
