The white physically pained him. He told her over and over but she didn’t seem to take his opinion into consideration, in fact, if he wouldn’t be called insane for say so he would actually claim that her apartment had gotten more white in the recent weeks. He dropped his sunglasses over his eyes before banging on the door a bit more aggressively than he needed to. Once he knocked he moved the canvas he’d been carrying to under his arm, tucking it there while he waited for her to open the door.
The painting, if you could even call it that, was fully black. The blackest black actually. So black and so matte that it actually absorbed light. At least that’s what the woman he bought it from had told him. She went on and own about the accessibility of art and feuding artists but honestly he didn’t listen beyond the price. When the door finally opened he raised his eyebrows behind the sunglasses, shaking his head a little, “First of all, don’t you dare ignore my phone calls again. That’s not how this works and you know it. Second, I brought you a present.”
