SSB headcanons: Subspace Emissary’s underlying Master Hand horror story
Captain Falcon and Olimar both ended up on the Isle of Ancients after following a mysterious distress signal operating in a strange way neither of them had ever seen before. Olimar hypothesized that maybe the bizarre signal came from an organism with resonating crystals or similar structures and abilities. (You know. Like order scions do.)
Ganondorf would often hear a man’s voice telepathically whispering to him. Bowser and Wario couldn’t hear it, but he could. It appeared when that Master Hand thing was around, and it said the same thing every time. “Help me”.
Before coming across Pikachu, Samus logically searched the deepest reaches of the Subspace Bomb Factory. Instead of finding her gear, however, she discovered an abandoned cell that was apparently built to contain something extremely powerful. There were also these odd stains everywhere that glowed blue. Only after defeating Tabuu and restoring everyone’s memories did she realize the pure horror of what the stains were: Blood.
Everyone had dreams involving two oddly familiar men in monochrome pinstriped suits. Often, the dreams seemed to be of happy memories. But sometimes, the dreams involved the man in white being dragged away into a black abyss, or the one in black breaking down and crying, wounded and alone...

Headcanon: The nature of Tabuu (the Wireframe bass line thing)
Vashran Chrysaor was once a half-human Order scion... just like Dexter.
He acted as a mentor of sorts... albeit with very twisted motives. He wanted to groom Dexter into a supersoldier for the Order Lords, the gods that spawned... well, both of them. He even tried to get Sinister KILLED to prevent him from providing Dexter with hope that his transformation into a living weapon wasn’t inevitable.
He failed. And he was ANGRY.
He saw Sinister as an abomination that stole his magnum opus, (never mind that his “magnum opus” was a fucking PERSON) and Dexter as a traitor of the worst kind. And he became obsessed. He even took a new name describing what kind of people he vowed to destroy: Tabuu.
You know the Wireframes from Melee? Dexter and Sinister created them. Tabuu... did something similar. He built himself a new BODY. He destroyed his “weak” and “impure” half-human body and became... something monstrous. The same base magic was used... but for a much darker purpose.
Dexter and Tabuu have very similar powers because they’re both order scions, but they USE them in completely different ways.
Moon Base Sinister
Okay so ever since I wrote the New Donk City headcanon I was thinking more about the idea of the Hands being in different Super Mario Odyssey lands like Princess Peach is... and then I remembered the Moon Kingdom... and really, there’s only one possible outcome of that.
