Happy Family (Original Lacquer Painting)
An original lacquer painting on wood by Tim Nguyen.
A busy mother with children and family chickens.
This technique uses multiple layers of paint made from and mixed with lacquer derived from nine particular trees from Vietnam.
The whole process can take several months as layers are built up.
Lacquer has been used for hundreds of years.
The clear lacquer turns brown or a color when exposed to air.
Gold leaf application and inlaid shells are often used for highlights in the making of the images.
Size: 32" x 40".
