James - Laid (1993). Probably one of the greatest pioneers of Manchester music scene, but never got that recognition or credit. People love The Smiths or Stone Roses but I have yet to find more than a couple of people who actually credits James as one of the greats of the 90s. But they sold whole bunch of records so maybe I’m just hanging out with the wrong crowd. They’re still active and making records so there’s quite a few albums under their name. My favorite would have to be this album and Gold Mother. Whiplash is also one of my favorites although not many seems to like it. All of their 90s albums are pretty good so it’s a good place to start if you want to get into them. #james #laid #manchestermusic #90smusic #indiepop #timbooth
