WHEN: Early Afternoon on Day 1 (?) WHERE: Training Facility
...
Maternal is a word that has been attached to Fava’s name since she volunteered for her sister. It’s strange to see people painting her protective streak as a choice versus her only option. Her mother checked out five years ago. Fava is all Wren really has.
That said, she’s collected others over the past year; characters that went from strangers to friends in conversations that she wasn’t expecting. She’s learned a lot in the last twelve months, notably the importance of relying on others. She doesn’t have to do everything herself. Which is why she wanted to speak with Pista after having that conversation DeeZee. It’s a reminder that he’s not alone either.
She heard he was at the training facility, something that struck her as strange considering the others were stuffing their faces with the protein needed to keep their bodies performing at peak level. (She told Wren to eat less of it. Don’t get used to having meals. You won’t have anything in the Arena. Carb Loading now will just be a disadvantage.) Sure enough, the information was right. She could hear the forced exhales of hard work and the squeak of Capitol-approved sneakers.
“I don’t think you’re going to get your aggression out that way. It’s too easy.”
Fava slips off her jacket before he has a chance to reply. She barely reacts to the sudden chill as she removes her rings from her finger. “You want a target? I can do a pretty good Snow impression.”
