I Who Have Never Known Men moodboard
ineffective.
i would want to study and write a paper on suburban horror/dreamcore/weirdcore/liminal spaces and how they are art movements formed as a result of the detachment from nature and disintegration of american life post-white flight and reaganomics. Some media i would cite would be This House Has People In It, Unedited Footage of a Bear, The Curse, Don't Worry Darling, The Backrooms, Skinamarink, House of Leaves, Poltergeist. I would also need to find out the true early adopter accounts of the terms "weirdcore" and "liminal space". i could perhaps even work the online fascination with dead malls into the mix if time allows. And of course in a meta-analysis sense, note how and why a lot of these sources of suburban horror come from the internet, and why it hasnt gone away but just keeps getting more traction
