Interview of Arcadia Rune by Ruianna Rune
Ruianna: How long have you been an Aura user Miss Rune?
Arcadia: Rue you know you can just call me Gran! But I've been an Aura user since I was 19, so I'd say around sixty years. I've been a lesser known Aura master since my late twenties.
Ruianna: So, Gran, how would you describe Aura? Would it be a form of strengthened empathy?
Arcadia: Well, kind of. Those with Aura are very in tune with themselves and their soul, which is the source of their very essence, their life force, and the culmination of their very being, memories included.
Ruianna: how does being in tune with the soul cause Aura to be used though?
Arcadia: Well dearie, the closer you are to your true self, the purest essence of you as a person, the more in tune you are with your life force. If you have a strong life force, you'll have stronger Aura, which makes reading the Aura of others easier, but also grants more power.
Ruianna: Alright, so when would you say the first account of Aura is?
Arcadia: Well, the first significant account would be Sir Aron, as he had a particularly strong aura, and played a key part in history, however, he was trained by the age he was then, meaning it had existed well before then, and well before mega evolution. Other users have just been lost to history and the passage of time.
Ruianna: and what can be seen with Aura?
Arcadia: it's a dark landscape, and depending on the strength or the know how of an aura user, people will appear as wisps or glowing versions of themselves, with the wisps of their Aura blazing through their entire being. Some aura users can navigate perfectly over time, learning to rely on what they see while in state as much as their own eyes, able to see the environment through the Aura of the world, down to a single grain of sand. One way of training this is by dodging with your eyes closed, forcing you to rely only on your aura if you want to avoid being knocked down.
Ruianna: Alright, going back to your comment about Sir Aron not being the first Aura user, is there any possible way to confirm that?
Arcadia: As a matter of fact there is! See, there's a very special plant called a time flower, that only blooms in the presence of Aura users, and while in bloom will record events that can then be seen through Aura later on when the flower is activated on purpose, as opposed to the accidental activation by the event recorded.
Ruianna: Wouldn't the flowers have died off by now?
Arcadia: no, they're alive alright. A time flower doesn't die, it stays there forever, sometimes the entire plant will turn entirely to crystal, but it'll be like they never died. They exist all over the world, but are especially common in Hoenn, Sinnoh, Kalos, and Alola, where Aura flows strongly among the people.
Ruianna: Interesting. In regards to strength, could Aura be described as a muscle of sorts? As in the more you use it the stronger your abilities get?
Arcadia: No, it's more like learning to play an instrument. Sure it may hurt and be extremely difficult at first, and you may get discouraged, but the longer you keep at it and the more you practice, the better you get. Some people might be tone deaf and have a hard time, while others may have perfect pitch and be able to play it by ear. Either way you get to the point where any song you play sounds beautiful.
Ruianna: Oh. Well, thank you for your time, I'm glad we could have this talk.
