Okay, so at first this started as me wondering what an average Cybertronian lifespan in your continuity would be in human years, but then I ended up just making a rough conversion table so the relative timeframes are easier to understand. I don’t know if you already have one on your blog, but I haven’t been able to find it, so I figured it would be useful to other readers to have (if my math isn’t wrong, which it probably is since I did this at like 2 am)
1 breem = 10.8 minutes
1 joor = 18 hours
1 cycle = 22.5 days
1 decacycle = 225 days
1 orn = 2250 days/~6.2 years
1 vorn = ~61.6 years
I based it all on a previous answer of yours saying 1 joor is 18 hours, so if that was just a rough estimation then I assume this is all wrong and you can just ignore this.
Hello!!!! A month late to the ask, but here now! :D
It took a while to search my blog, but I did find a post I made on Cybertronian times and one on conversions to Earth times. It quite literally took me an hour to find between tumblr's search functions and my terribly inconsistent tagging XD
I actually based my math around 1 vorn = 83 years (I saw this one day somewhere in the TF ethos and stuck with it), so my conversions are a bit different due to rounding.
Annnnnnnnd in doing this I realized an odd error I made...when did I change 1 vorn = 13 orn to 1 vorn = 10 orns in my time scales??? **questions everything I've written in my fics** **has a minor crisis** **scours LP for any signs of direct time scales mentioned** Figured it out! It was a typo (below)! The math is mathing as it ought to! ':)
To get back on track, I have the approximate conversions as follows:
83 years = 1 vorn
76.6 months = 1 orn
33.2 weeks = 1 decacycle
23.3 days = 1 cycle
18.7 hours = 1 joor
11.2 minutes = 1 breem
6.7 seconds = 1 klick
0.067 seconds = 1 nanoklick
And here's my math. Feel free to check it over! I'm using the average days in a year to account for leap years, so there's some discrepancies in the days, hours, minutes, and seconds depending on the actual year.
