They float through the time stream, eternal watchers perhaps, created by some god? No one is sure, their species was thought to be legend, but the Egyptians, people in the medieval period, and even people today have recorded accounts of these creatures letting loose a beam which they slip through. Oddly enough these recordings were always on the same day at the same time, even though the eras were many many years apart.....
