SEVEN QUESTIONS: Timeca Seretti
Timeca Seretti is a model, actress, & singer who has performed locally since 2001 and has worked in Los Angelas in pursuit of her dream. Timeca is the Architect of Wild Child Entertainment, an entertainment company to develop and produce independent films that enlighten, encourage and enrich the lives of women. She wrote a short film entitled “Drama” on the subject of childhood bullying. It has been the 2010 Official Selection of the Reel Women SXSW Showcase. Timeca is currently staring in The Georgetown Palace Production of Beehive - The Musical! GTFE Magazine had a chance to visit with Timeca and discover about her craft, her passion, and her event.
GTFE: Tell us a little about your back ground and how you got into Acting? Timeca: I was always that little girl in the mirror with her hairbrush, but I didn't really get into acting until I was in my late 20's. In 2001, a friend from home (Indiana) was living here in Austin and she said that I should come and visit. Although, I lived in Houston for five years I had never been to Austin, so I came to visit and I loved it. Like a lot of actors, I made a trek to LA and I; spent a year there, and ran running and screaming back to Austin. GTFE: Being from Indiana, (Gary), how does your upbringing prepare you for acting the parts in Beehive? Timeca: It's been said that people from the midwest are hard workers and I consider myself one, so I think that helps with being prepared for roles. as an example: I usually do a lot of character work, there's the backstory that I create, then I try and figure out my motivation for what happens while I'm that character; Beehive was a different way of preparing for a musical. GTFE: And there was Tina Turner... Timeca: Oh Tina was my favorite hands down. She's one of my idols! Just trying embrace things from the 60's and make them real to me, but also to get the nuances of the Tina’s character; to be able to imitate her - Whoa! - and to think I had to be corralled into auditioning. GTFE: This is your 1st time at the Palace. Can you tell us how it has been? Timeca: It's been a really great experience, this is my first musical of this scale! There was so much preparation, learning the music and the dances, my character work took a backseat to all of that, and, Man, I just love these ladies! GTFE: This show is full of talented leading ladies. Timeaca: Acting has always been my first love.......because I just love the thought of being able to slip into someone else life and be that person fully! But music is beginning to really pick up some steam, I don't think I am on the level that these ladies have. And they are just so genuine and giving with helping me to become better. GTFE: Can you tell us about "A Swinging Trio" Timeca: It's a film, I am staring in, from a local duo about love, music, betrayal, and the difficult places where new beginnings can be found. And it really is an awesome dialogue driven film. GTFE: What is next theatrically (stage) for you? Timeca: Well, I hope to get something going with my theater company Altered Stages, I would love to do something like Purlie Victorious.
GTFE: Thank you Timeca for sharing with us. Timeca: Thanks for the opportunity. More about Timeca http://timecaseretti.com
