Time: 

After my year at kitchener I dropped out. I had figured out what I wanted to go to school for; Theatre Production. The program would help me learn about all aspects of theatre, and would help learn what goes into a production. I'm extremely interested in this because in the future I would like to be mounting my own ideas. 

The summer before all this started I went to British Columbia for my 19th birthday. I had gone because I knew a beautiful girl, that lived in the most beautiful place in the world, Salt Spring Island British Columbia. We had been talking a lot before hand, and she had told me she liked me, and she had broken up with her boyfriend. 

I got out there a bit earlier than her (she was working in Vancouver at the time) so I hung out with my friends family that was on vacation there (they were originally from there). I spent 2 days with them and they were the best days of my trip. I was with Elliott Cooper's family. I played in a metal band called avera with him, and he is very much a brother to me.  When my friend came back from vancouver I went and stayed at her house. We hung out for a bit, and then her dad showed me where i'd be staying.It was his office, which was a little shack on the lake, complete with a bed, guitars, and the internet. After this her boyfriend came home. She must have lied to me, or gotten back together with him. I couldn't stand being in the same room with them at that time, so I  went to the shack and played guitar. I jammed two chords I used to jam a lot, but in a different feeling. These notes had a lot of emotion, and i had never felt their power until then. I started mumbling some words and they became the first few lines of the song "Where do i begin to say all these things I've had locked up in my brain driving me insane". This has to do with all the ideas floating in my head, but more about how I could face this woman that i had contributed a false relationship with in my head. I was playing in a lot of bands that summer. Including the metal band avera, and a band with my friends called "Maginot". We played a lot of Neutral Milk Hotel covers, i loved them a lot back then. I didn't sing much back then because I was so focused on writing and learning material for those bands.

When the summer ended and I went to school, I could start focusing on my own thing.

I started writing time, and I ended up recording it on the night of nuite blanche. The first recordings contained a chord change w/ a whistling part that I eventually took out. 

I played my first acoustic set soon after my first recording. I played a spoken word piece I had written in BC called salt water. It's all about change and finding yourself. I then covered neutral mik hotels "King of Carrot Flowers pt 1" and then my song Time. The entire thing was recorded, and i could tell my voice still needed a lot of work. i also needed more material.
