KH OC Week 🍀 Day 1: Introduction

(⚠️ There will be spoilers for Overmorrow: The Founder’s Story throughout this event!)

Hellooo! This time for @khoc-week I’ve decided to choose prompts (mostly) from previous years. I’m happy to use day 1 to introduce or re-introduce you to my star of this week, Charis Athan-Askr! 💫

Charis is the deuteragonist of my fic series Overmorrow: The Founder’s Story. Originally drafted as a minor character companion for Ephemer and general comedic relief, Charis naturally became much more nuanced over the course of the writing process. As Ephemer’s first friend after the fall of Daybreak Town, his confidant, his student, and his eventual life partner, Charis plays a pivotal role in the foundations of Scala ad Caelum’s history, and in the beginnings of its famous legacy and dynasty that spans for generations. When they marry, Charis takes on the surname I gave Ephemer, Ophiuchus, while continuing to also carry the surnames of her mother and father.

* Charis wears a lot of (metaphorical) hats! As mentioned, he’s a co-Operations Master of the Scala ad Caelum Conservation Committee. Extended from its former name, The Cable Town Restoration Committee, the SCCC is responsible for overseeing various construction projects, and the general betterment of Scala’s quality of life.

Charis is also an auxiliary town protector and Project Nexus executant. You can learn more about what those mean here and here respectively. For the Nexus, basically that means he regularly travels to different worlds to secure them, help any inhabitants, gather information, and collect resources to bring home.
