Timely Advice || Megaera & Charon
It was not long after Hades waged war on earth that Charon excitedly jumped on that boat. It was clear from the very beginning what his role would be, recruiting. Not too big a leap from his previous job only now he chose who he interacted with. Which was turning out to be much more entertaining than the centuries he spent on the shores of Styx. It was easy to turn Hades' prerogative to fit the desires of his recruits. The goal was simple and easily attained Charon could read people like open books, and when the ferryman decided on a recruit they had only false choice. For the man was relentless and in the end they would join the infernal army.
Charon worked quickly many of his recruits already dead. But this phased him little for every one that fell; Charon found two or three more to take their place. The Olympians had many enemies and this delighted the man to no avail. But it turned out that Charon's work didn't end at the recruiting he also took it upon himself to occasionally check up on the recruits ensuring they did indeed show up. So far no one had ducked out which came as no surprise to the ferryman. But this deterred him little from double checking, which was what the man had been doing. Charon wanted to make sure Hades had everything he needed to win his rightful throne that was long overdue.
Charon had stopped momentarily at the Caves of Tartarus to get a clearer idea of the souls that were being converted. The man beamed with pride, this was the factory line of his work. While useful--not quite as important as Charon recruiting immortals, creatures and all the damned to the righteous war. Or at least that was what the man told himself.
Still beaming he made his way back to his king's tower. Charon intended to keep Hades up to date on his recruits and the progress at the caves. He cut across the once fields but now charred lands, when he noticed another figure heading to the tower. A short chuckle escaped from deep within Charon when he recognized the fury, he broke into a jog so he could catch up. He skipped over a pile of bones to land in the distinctly laid out path of skulls leading to the entrance of the tower. He shouted out, "Megaera!" He slowed to a purposeful walk when he caught the attention of the woman.
