 oh  how  he  dreads  rainy  days.  melancholy  written  across  the  guard’s  face  as  he  looks  up  at  the  sky  as  they  weep.  how  dreary,  are  reunions  not  supposed  to  be  joyous  events?  for  a  second  he  feels  the  dread  tugging  on  his  heartstrings  but  with  an  inaudible  voice  urges  him  to  go  forward.  he  cannot  make  out  the  words,  but  he  guesses  they  are  right  and  thus  he  sets  out  to  find  the  one  person  he  needs  to  find  in  this  place.

 fortune  would  have  it  that  he  comes  across  him  as  he  stands  near  the  entrance  of  a  building,  having  found  shelter  against  the  rain.  the  camera  held  close.  at  least  that  has  not  changed,  but  from  what  he  could  see  so  far,  joseph  is  doing  well  :  it  makes  him  happy.

“You know,” Phares’ voice found itself soft with fondness as he set his cup back down against the saucer resting on the table, hands folding across his lap. “I can’t say I’m able to recall the last time someone invited me to tea just for the chance to talk.”

Well. Almost. After he had first been freed from the Progenitor - after they defeated the replica of Alberius - he and his siblings had gathered for a small party of sorts. Though really, tea and conversation had just become tea over a game of chess. Leonidas as relentless as ever while Chelle chided him - perhaps you could go a bit easy on our dear brother, Leonidas. After all, he has only just recovered from his illness.

Her sentiments had been appreciated, and he had enjoyed playing against Leonidas again even if he ultimately lost the game. He loved his siblings dearly, loved being able to interact with them again as himself, but it was...nice. To speak with someone other than his siblings. Someone who didn’t know who he once was, nor the weight of the guilt that sat upon his shoulders. Did not know of his crimes, nor demand any form of repentance. 

“I offer you my thanks once more, Mister Desaulniers, though I find myself ever curious as why you chose to reach out to me, of all the fascinating people here.”

Piper had nothing else to do than to venture around, there is a man looked like one of those colonial ones in her world, in a form of a picture frame and painted. He definitely looked handsome and almost reminds him of one of those Minutemen from the Commonwealth, on the way he wears. Something like ‘Blue’ would wear if she’s the General but she’s not.

The camera though, she’s pretty impressed of that thing and wanting to ask on where or how to get one of those that she could use it for an article scoop, if she ever can that is.

“That’s one interesting ‘thing’ you’re holding. What’s it called?” She refers to the camera Joseph’s holding. Prolly because the cameras in her world were dead broken after the bombs fell at the Commonwealth, her world.

It’s been a long time since Todd’s left his main camera at home. Maybe he’s gotten a little spoiled by Mirror and access to the NEO-ONE, because braving the water for shots of the stunning little bug-types with nothing but a cheap waterproof camera is... taking some getting used to.

He surfaces near the shore, shaking water out of his hair and squinting at his temporary camera. This one lacks any option for scrolling back through recent shots, so he’ll only be able to tell if he’s gotten anything good once he’s back home and can develop the film. ...he hasn’t had to deal with that for a while, either.

Still, there’s something magical about being able to reach a hand out and let his subjects rest on his fingers between shots. Todd can’t exactly experience something like that from inside the NEO-ONE, and he appreciates the novelty of his low-tech excursion.

He’s nearly run out of exposures when he finally leaves the water to dry off in the warm summer air, and he hopes that out of the fifty or so he took, at least one will be a passable photograph. He’s gotten dressed over his swimming trunks and is about to head back home, perhaps to grab his real camera for some shots from the shore, when he sees someone else who seems to have had the same idea.

“Hey!” Todd calls, his smile and voice friendly and warm. He trots over to the other photographer, extremely careful not to let any lingering drops of water get anywhere near the stranger or their camera.

“It’s a beautiful night, isn’t it? Are you here to photograph the animals too?”

“I’m Todd-- it’s great to see someone appreciating the incredible creatures that live around here. You’re the first other nature photographer I’ve met in Spirale!”

he was never much of an artist really. art was the sort of thing people with freedom seemed to grapple with most, or those with some sort of creative gene affixed to their biology. perhaps it was simply something passed along, painters birthing painters and so on, but either way sephiroth was not blessed with such a desire to create, as he was to destroy. he had only ever taught himself instruments ( the violin, a juxtaposed little thing in between his rather muscular physique ) and later on he sketches visions of nightmares on the scrapped paper of bookmarks, but those were not encouraged means to spend his time.

he was made from the fruits of science after all, raised between clean white walls and his skin had smelt of antiseptic for so long. there were no paintbrushes and toy pianos. thus, conversing with artists seemed to sometimes fill that void he believed he might not possess had he been encouraged to draw or something of the like. it was much the same gravitational pull to genesis, though he was a reader himself, but that artistic personality sucked him in somehow, if only due to his lack of it.

a bottle of wine was passed between the two men as sephiroth listened to one particular artist talking. a photographer, first and foremost, but he looked as if he was carved from pure marble. features alabaster, hair perfectly curled about his face. he looked more like the art than any artist. “ how do you decide on your subjects, i remember you said you mostly capture people than things, but are there ever wrong or right sorts of people? “ he placed the rosé back upon the table and returned to studying the other’s face. 

“ beyond mission reports, i’ve never had much use for cameras myself. “

The gardener was in one of her happier moods today. Of course, what kind of gardener wouldn’t be happy to wake up and spend time with all their plants? Even if it was beginning to take up more room in her living space than what was necessary, it was always good for her plants to have more space to themselves! In fact, she had just been rearranging where some of her plants were currently situated when the familiar voice registered to her.

Turning to him with a smile, she offered a wave.

“ Hi there! You came at a good time for that  ;  I was just finishing all this up! Just let me place this little one down first  ...  “ As soon as she was able to find a stable place for the potted plant to stay for the time being, her full attention was turned back to him. “ Now! What was this about needing my expertise? “

Emma had always been a keen listener no matter what, but plant talk had always been something that both made her listen intently and contribute to the conversation more than she normally does on any random topic. Even if she wasn’t as experienced as professional florists, she was certain she’d be able to help out with any flower-based inquiries! Which this just happened to be about!

But the certain type of flower caught her attention with a grin and slight giggle.

“ Yellow roses? These aren’t for who I think they’re going to be for, are they? Don’t worry, your secret’s safe with me! And even if they’re not for him, I’m still eager to help! “ While she was continuing to speak, she suddenly found herself getting up and looking for something. One could never be too sure of another’s experience with flower language and meanings, so she was currently looking for her many books about those topics. “ It’s not just about whether flowers complement each other in terms of appearance or arrangement! If you asked me, I’d say the meanings behind them mattered more at the end of the day! “

Finally returning with a couple of books in hand, she put them down on the nearest table before continuing to speak. “ You could have the most beautiful arrangement of flowers in the whole world, but if the meanings don’t match up or contradict each other? Why, that’s just wasted that entire effort! And sure, there will be some people who just appreciate flowers for their appearance and don’t bother with meanings and such, but meaningful flowers can help make the arrangement feel more personalised and not just something picked out because it’s popular or whatever. “ Was she getting more detailed than she needed to be? Well, yes. But this was great knowledge for one to have either way! Especially if she was going to need to determine exactly what he was wanting this arrangement to convey.

“ Okay, okay, that’s enough about me rambling on about my preferences! What I really need to know is what direction you’re wanting to go with this. You know  ;  what meaning you’re wanting to convey. Yellow roses are commonly associated with friendship, so we could always pick out flowers that have the same or similar meaning and make an arrangement with those! “ A small pause. “ Or  ...  because of how vague the yellow roses would be on their own, we could always combine them with other flowers to convey that the friendship is turning into something else! I presume it’d be nothing bad or you wouldn’t have even come to me in the first place, so you could always have different coloured roses in the arrangement or just flowers that have the other dynamic you’re looking for! Oh! And while we’re on the topic of roses! Did you know that you can get a red-tipped yellow rose? It’s used to convey joyous feelings or happiness to whoever’s receiving it, but it also conveys friendship too! And even hints at the possibility of falling in love! I just thought that was interesting. They look quite lovely too! It’s always good to keep flowers like that in the back of your mind. Just in case! “

Only now was she finally beginning to realise that maybe she was pushing for a certain agenda. Immediately after that realisation, she began waving her hands frantically. “ Oh, but that might not even be what you want! I’m sorry! I get so carried away! I’ve just always wanted to make a romantic arrangement for someone  ...  I’ll get there someday! I’ll just continue dreaming about that for now. “ What could she say? It was a bad habit of hers  ;  quickly going to assume something without there being much evidence for it. She took a brief moment to calm herself down, smile still on her face as she continued. “ But this is about you! And the recipient too! Don’t let my thoughts influence your decision too much, I’m just here to give you information! But, you have to, as well. So I have to ask  ...  “

“ What are you trying to convey with these flowers? The more detail, the better! “

humans, especially those more finely dressed, never fail to intrigue lanque. there’s just something so adorably fragile about them... they’re all so free and multifaceted. but that’s never the reason why he approaches people, buzzed and sipping down some fine wine. lounges are nice and quiet, but that isn’t gonna stop him from being especially forward when there’s good company, humming and undressing joseph with his eyes before approaching. “ it’s refreshing to see someone with such good taste. ”

❂  ☆  ◍  ━━ FEAR IS CLUTCHING at his throat, and though he tries hard not to show it, he feels his heart begin to race and his body begin to shake. Eyes are closed, and he leans back against the wall and shivers.

That damn photographer. Mike doesn’t want to think about him, or consider the possibility of multiple hunters in this city. He’s yet to be accustomed to the ways here, and he doesn’t need the added stress of...

Eyes open. He feels the color drain from his face as he sees him. Oh. He’s surely been caught. The only option left is to run.
