what are the chances those fire extinguishers actually are the same ones Fred Andrews kept? It's been seven years since highschool. Don't the USA have any kind of household fire deaths prevention laws that would force a landlady to exchange those every few years?

Also... the Ghoulies didn't just sleep there for a night or two, they actually lived there. For a significant amount of time. They knew there were fire extinguishers and they knew the floorplan really well.. If they actually wanted to do more than some minor damage, son't you think they would have come through the unlocked garage door and set fire directly in front of the sink and the closet? Or are there no laws about replacing fire extinguishers and Mary kept the old ones so that the Ghoulies assumed those wouldn't work anymore anyway? Because they were only good until 2021 - but the one directly after highschool, not the seven years later 2021?
