Gallery 98 is a source for vintage art and ephemera connected to the New York City downtown art world of the 1970s and 1980s. Much of the art here is connected to the artist group Collaborative Projects Inc. COLAB exerted wide influence through members like Jenny Holzer, Tom Otterness, and Kiki Smith; through exhibitions it organized like The Times Square Show (1980); and through two affiliated art spaces, Fashion Moda in the South Bronx, and ABC No Rio in the Lower East Side.
