Bookish Question: favorite non-romantic relationship

Oh this is difficult if only because I don’t know if you want a specific relationship between people or a type of relationship. I think I’m going to go with the latter as picking just one from so many books would be frightening.

I love the connection between hero and villain. When it’s developed between well written and nuanced characters it’s such a fascinating dynamic. One of my favorites was how Harry Potter & Voldemort were paralleled at the beginning. It fell apart a little by the end, but at first it always made me shiver that so very little was different between them. The truth is that  there is no such thing as a villain, turn the story around and antagonist is the hero of their own story.
