Hi :) so, you were asking for people’s stories about how they worked out they were bi and why Stiles being bi would be important to me, so hopefully this is about right :)

I worked out I was probably bi in high school, around year 10 I got a huge crush on this girl and it really confused me what I was. I knew I wasn’t gay but I thought maybe it was just her? I don’t know, I’d considered the possibility that maybe I was gay but only as a passing what if thought. I didn’t really notice that I was bi or even attracted to girls I guess, which in hindsight was odd because for as long as I’ve had sexy time fantasies they’ve been equal opportunity.

 So when I realised how much I liked her it made me think about it a lot more. To my shame now, I didn’t think I could be bi because the only discussion of bi people I had come across were accusations of girls being bi to get attention, playing gay so that they could attract guys and it was always attached to accusations of ‘sluttiness’, so I kind of dismissed it out of hand. I was never uncomfortable with my crush on her but I was uncomfortable with the label. As I understood it more, I got waaaaaay more comfortable with it. 

I feel like if I had had some point of reference, for example a character on a tv show I loved, like Stiles, I would have realised a lot faster and I would have been comfortable with it a whole lot faster. Even now it would mean a lot to have an openly bi character on a tv show that I loved, that I could relate to, that wasn’t so heavily sexualised would be brilliant :D
