I’ve read What We Pretend We Can’t See! gyzym, always so good. and such a gift to see they’re still writing fic in 2017, too, ‘cause i remember their night vale and captain america fic and those were from 2012
when by now and tree by leaf looks lovely. Unfortunately mpreg and infidelity are not my thing, though the author’s note was very much appreciated, and from the number of kudos and comments they have, i’m sure they don’t need my opinion hahaha
Dwelling took me all day to read, and every word was a joy! The Boy Who Lived working through his trauma and balancing the feeling of not being needed with the overwhelming warmth, friendship and love he has from his best friends, and addressing his longing for the family he never had, and people who died and can’t come back. it’s so sweet, tender and painful, and dives into the complicated after-effects of its magical premise and everything that it says about its characters. In a more lighthearted fic, the premise would be the sort of thing you class alongside sex pollen, tropey and fun and a perfect plot device for getting people together but here it’s so much more than that. Heartbreakingly soft and Inception levels of mindfuck, I loved it
