A PAIR OF LEGENDS During the 2006 Race Across America, when Tinker Juarez (center) reached Durango, Colorado he was concerned about the terrain between there and the next time station in Pagosa Springs. Tinker wanted to take a sleep break but when his fellow mountain bike legend and Durango resident Ned Overend stopped by for a visit, Ned convinced Tinker to continue. Ned knew the route well and assured Tinker that the climbing wasn't as severe as Tinker had been led to believe.
