Her eyes were practically drilling holes into the person with the way she was glaring at them. “No, I’m fine,” Astrid sneered at the third person in the last five minutes offered to help her. Her arms were carrying bags of groceries. Each one of them filled to the brim with food. She had procrastinated going to the supermarket for too long. It was hard to find time to go buy food when she also had to study, work, and keep up with her training. Not only did she have multiple exams coming up in her various online classes but she also had to cover a shift for her coworker on Friday. She had to balance her time training between the gym and the stables. Between everything, it was a miracle she had time to breathe let alone get groceries and eat. Don’t even get her started on a social life. There was just so much to keep track of and so little time in the day. Her thoughts were swirling as she fumbled to unlock the door to her apartment. The one day she wished Tink was home the girl was nowhere to be found. Entering the threshold Astrid tripped on who knows what, causing the grocery bags to go flying. Damn it, she should have looked where she was going. God, she was so stupid. Now the fruit was probably bruised, and the bread was smashed, and the eggs. God, the eggs. The whole carton of eggs was crushed. Astrid could feel the tears beginning to form in her eyes. “You’ve got to be fucking kidding me.” It was the eggs’ fault. Who decided to make flimsy ass containers for eggs anyway? They should be sturdier so they wouldn’t be crushed under so much pressure. ‘Stupid fucking eggs,’ She thought as she walked over to her room. It was only after she shut the door behind her that she allowed herself to cry.
