Elijah raised his glass of maprico juice–that Nalen insisted he drink, the busybody–and took a swig of it before leaning back on his free hand, swirling the drink around a bit. He didn’t really get along with people well because of his lack of social skills, so finding someone who knew how it felt to not be able to do emotional stuff well was comforting.
“What makes you say that?”
“I’ve been through some shit, met someone I could relate to and focus my anger out on with.” She replied from her seat, feet swung up and onto the empty one next to her as her bland seltzer water fizzed and popped.
“I mean I could give the time to give two shits about someone else but I learned very early on, the moment you care about another they’re ripped away from you. Whether you want them to leave or not.”
Seemed that she had a lot on her mind, as she typically wasn’t the chatty type and more the broody type. Nearby, she could see her Ember Prime shift its weight as it stood guard, simply mulling the hum and traffic of the relay’s cafe.
