Dear America, There is nothing special about Twinkies
Twinkies and Tinkies
Quite weird, here in South Africa, our "Twinkies" are not made by hostess, and they're called "Tinkies". The reason is that during apartheid, sanctions local companies made fake versions of a lot of things! So we have a Bar One that is virtually identical to a Mars Bar, and we have Smarties that are M&M's, and that sort of thing. So when I spotted Twinkies in the shop yesterday I noticed they are in fact Tinkies, so they'll still be on sale. Weird.
