Well I was thinking of turning this wonderfully textural object from my backyard into a #collagraph, but I thought I should wait for those assassin bug nymphs to crawl off before I take it into the studio. A quick google search reveals that they are probably good for the garden but should not be handled. Maybe they will be gone when I get back from work. #yearofcreativehabits #tinrocket #this #collagraph #assasinbugnymph (at Southwest Houston, TX)

Waterlogue offers water color filters for photos. The results are impressive. However, for my taste, the app is a bit slow and the interaction is limited. I would prefer more influence on the pictures while they are painted by the algorithm.

#WATERLOGUETAKEOVER: Falling Off Bicycles
We've long admired Julia's, (Falling Off Bicycles), travel photography.
Her photographs of Parisian cafés, the markets in Amsterdam, and quick jaunts to Rome and Marseilles (plus a very healthy dose of bicycles in whatever city her camera takes her to) are somehow both timeless and modern, and leave us pining for our next European vacation. Earlier this month, we featured Julia as our Instagram Takeover Artist so we could all follow along on her adventures. We've gathered a few of paintings from the week. For more of Julia’s takeover images, take a peek at our story on Storehouse or Steller. Or follow along on Instagram.

Popsicolor is a photo filter app to create water color half tone images. You have to choose a pair of colors and a few other settings to turn your photos into something special. In the works above: sophia two-tone
Only caveat: use the latest hardware b/c rendering is not the fastest for playful experimenting.

The Authentic-Synthetic Art Project: Introduction
The Authentic-Synthetic Art Project (authsynthart) is an exploration of the creative possibilities of high-context image manipulation tools.
High-context tools are apps that take user input in the form of an image, do a significant amount of modification, and then output a stylized version of the original image. They typically allow for limited intervention by the user in the stylization process apart from selecting some initial options.
Examples of high-context tools on iOS include the Tinrocket apps, Pop-a-Graph, Brushstroke and Glaze.
These tools can produce beautiful, stylized renditions of any kind of image, including photographs, sketches, modeled scenes, and abstract designs.
We're going to explore how these tools might fit into a workflow, and use them in two larger projects: an animation and an illusory image.
