Shaye & Tom designed and built this tiny house they named Lucy, for their infant daughter Hazel, and themselves.
They wanted a large living room that would seat 8.
Over the living room is a mini loft for storage.
Shaye works from home, so she needed a work area.
They also wanted a kitchen where Shaye could store Mason jars for canning.
They both wanted a full-size shower.
Shaye didn’t want a ladder to the sleeping loft, b/c she was afraid she’d accidentally kill herself, so they decided on storage stairs.
The loft, where baby Hazel sleeps beside them in her Moses basket. Their home is light, airy, and larger than the studio apt. they had before. About tiny house living, they say, "There are two ways to be rich: One is by acquiring much, and the other is by desiring little."

Before I even got inside the 22′ Chinook Peak I couldn’t help seeing all those windows and thinking about the heat-loss in winter and the heat-transfer in summer.
I get how people put lots of windows in tiny homes to make them seem larger and visually open but the difference between a random design and a thoughtful design get obvious.
The bathroom, with all standard non-tiny home fixtures, is not very thoughtful.
