The brothers only remained up for a few more minutes. Dean did a quick check of Sam’s temperature and made sure no new injuries had cropped up during the harsh night.

Once he declared Sam as fit as he could in the dark (and Sam grew tired of Dean’s mothering), they pushed the napkin with the remains of the food to the side, both took one last drink of water to help re-hydrate after the harsh day, and then curled into the folds of the handkerchief.

We’re a little behind schedule for writing it due to rl things, and ended up tackling a bit of a different story for a bit that was easier to write at the time, but we’ll be getting back into it soon, and once we get moving again, we’ll be able to excerpt it.

For now, I’ll leave you with this:

Protectively pulling Sam half into his lap, Dean parted his frozen lips. He hadn’t talked since Sam dropped unconscious over an hour back, and his voice cracked. “P-please,” Dean pleaded. “Don’t take him.”

John’s heart sank to hear the desperation in the absolutely tiny voice. “I’m not going to,” he promised quietly.

He convinced himself to tear his eyes away, glancing up and down the street. It was dead quiet, no one around at this hour. He was alone with two absolutely tiny kids freezing in the snow.

“Where are your parents?” he asked gently, turning back to Dean. “Are they nearby? Did you get separated?”

Jacob would have a heart attack XD Scared to even move with all those tiny kids near him. They’d be lucky to keep him in one spot long enough to even try.

So, I work at a school with kids of varying ages, and today working in a K/1 class this one kid had a little meltdown while they were decorating Halloween masks.

It was the end of the day, and he'd just been told he had to get on the OOSH bus( after school care type thing) and his mum had told him she would be picking him up.

So he was sad.

Somehow, in distracting him and the other four little boys on the table I was dragged into a huge discussion about how old Santa Claus is and I got to decorate my own Halloween mask! and basically yeah, that was my day.
