Criminal Minds G/t
(Derek Morgan w/ Tiny Penelope + unfinished) Penelope had only been working for the BAU for some months now as the technical analyst, and she’s already been rather close with the other members of the team. She finds herself being even closer with Agent Morgan, mostly because of their flirtatious friendship and the way she can easily feel safe-- or comfortable nearby him.
Today, he had to stay back from the flight and help out the team over the phone along with Garcia. Derek was actually completely okay with staying back, this’ll be the most he gets to hangout with Penelope. He says goodbye to the team as they leave for the flight, it was going to leave in almost an hour so they needed to leave now. He makes way to Garcia’s office, and once the door closes behind him-- the tiny Penlope jumps, a little startled.
“Derek Morgan-- do not scare me like that, my little heart can’t take it,” she quickly retorts, removing her hand away from her beating heart. Morgan only chuckled with amusement at Garcia's reaction, “I am so sorry pipsqueak, I’ll make sure to… close the door more quietly.” Penelope isn’t all that pleased with his response, but she gives up on the man. He was hard to keep on a leash, which is what she liked about him.
Slowly, Derek dragged a chair over to the desk and sat down behind Penelope. “You make it hard for me, woman,” he comments without context. Penelope, confused, asks, “What do I make hard for you?” Morgan pauses, and then answers, “You make it hard for me to not pick you up, and bring you everywhere with me.” Garcia imagined that, and smiled. “I wouldn’t mind that if I didn’t have a job to do.”
As time goes on, Derek gets a call from Hotch. Most likely Agent Hotchner needed information. Morgan answered the incoming call and put him on speaker. “Garcia, I need you to pull up medical records for Holy Cross Germantown Hospital,” Aaron says over the phone. Which actually startled Penelope from how the phone exports sound. “On it-!” Garcia says quickly, but the phone didn’t pick up what she said. Morgan chuckled and brought the phone up, “She’s on it boss.” His eyes glance to Garcia, she’s so focused on what she’s doing that he finds it cute. “Okay, great. Let me know when you find anything,” Hotchner says as he then hangs up on the other line, and Derek slid his phone back into his pocket.
Morgan leaned over, putting his elbows on the desk and his chest wasn’t that far from Garcia. He hadn’t noticed how he was looming over Penelope, but she didn’t really say anything because Penelope was too focused on finding those medical records that would match their unsubs profile. His heart beat kept beating and Garcia could hear it amazingly well, the first time she’s heard a heartbeat was when Reid got too close to her. That happened when she first joined the BAU, he was so shocked by her presence when Spencer first laid eyes on her.
