Buddy: You're alive... You're alive!

Tiny: Ah-! Buddy! T-too tight...

Stumbling woozily out of the metal corpses, Tiny barely had time to fully gather her bearings as Buddy lunged for her, hugging her tight and tearing up in relieved delight.

Buddy: I... can't believe that just... Y... You scared me half to death!

Tiny: ...Heh, you didn't think they'd take me down that easy, did ya?

Buddy's voice was soft and shaky, yet... happy... It couldn't be real, she really survived that, she was really right here in his arms...

Buddy: (sniff) I- how is this... I... I really thought... (sniff)

Tiny rolled her eyes...

Tiny: Ugh, come on, Buddy, if you start crying, then I'm gonna cry, and we're not gonna...

Tiny trailed off as Buddy continued to sniffle and sob softly in her arms, quickly dropping the snark.

Tiny: It's okay... I'm here, Buddy... I'm here, and I'm fine...

Buddy: (sniff) Oh, sis... I'm never losing you again.

Tiny sighed, leaning closer into her brother as tears also formed in her eyes, the previous remorse for her actions combining with the reality of her near death sinking in...

Tiny: I... I'm- I'm... so, so sorry... For everything... For being jealous, all the trouble I caused, everything I put all of you through and-

Buddy: D- don't be... it... it doesn't matter anymore... it's over... it... it's really over... You beat them. Tiny, you did it...

Tiny gave a sad smile at her brother.

Tiny: ...No, we did it.

Feature Length Fanfiction Announcement - Dinosaur Train: Day Of The Robots

Set after the events of Dinosaur Train: Adventure Island, The Pteranodon family is tired from their trip, and ready to settle back into their everyday lives as they catch up with old friends.

But just when everything seems to be safe and sound and running right on track, things start to go right off the rails once again as an escaped robot T-rex from Adventure Island is mysteriously brought to life like never before, and with his ragtag team of lackeys creature and machine alike, forms a plan to take over the Mesozoic.

All kinds of chaos and destruction are soon caused in Troodon Town, and all across The Railway of Dinosaur Train Industries, and The Dinosaur Train, Rocket Train and Solar Train are put out of commission in an accident.

Things go from bad to worse when everyone's Adventure Island hero, Buddy Tyrannosaurus, finds himself caught off guard in an evil trap and captured.

Will Tiny and her friends save the day in time? Or will the little pteranodon need a big lesson in the value of teamwork and importance of thinking her actions through after a very reckless decision trying to prove her 'Tiny Power' first?

Yeah, this is happening, this is actually something I'm doing. Fitting when I think about it as Adventure Island's release will turn five in April this year. (Though I can't promise I can release the fic by then to commemorate it)

Originally I was gonna wait until I had the full version of this cover which also more of the prominent characters plus the new ones, but that's taking a while due to other projects and I'm only posting this now as I've started on the transcript a couple days ago.

With that said I should talk about the lore of this fan sequel adaptation:

Back in October last year, I was surfing Twitter front-end site Nitter because boredom, and looking up Dinosaur Train stuff, I found a mention of this supposed movie coming out and research lead me to this:

Yeah if it wasn't obvious, some nut clearly faked this for whatever reason (I mean come on, Chance Hurstfield as Buddy? Um BRO IS 19 NOW MAN)

But regardless, even if this wasn't an actual movie coming out, the plot of this sounded way too interesting to pass up, and seeing as I'm looking to write Dinosaur Train fics in the near future, this was an excellent opportunity, and I decided I'd take matters into my own hands.

Naturally, this fic is going to be rewritten as a sequel to the Adventure Island movie, staying faithful to the series while maintaing the action and suspense of the plot to the best of my ability.

As of now, I've got the basics of the plot down. As mentioned, Tiny is the main character of this adaptation, and she will have quite the journey and arc in this. Basically I like to think of this as when her reckless side starts becoming more evident than it was in-canon (which I dare say failed miserably to utilize that side of her) If you thought her naivety in the episode "Tiny and The Crocodile" was bad, oh buckle up! She becomes very overambitous and impulsive in this story, which all traces back to all the attention everyone is giving Buddy following the sucess of his idea to save Adventure Island - problem is, everyone is only interested in Buddy, despite the rescue mission being a team effort between the quadruplets and the rest of the team on Adventure Island. This frustrates Tiny in particular, as being both the youngest and smallest of the Pteranodon Family, she starts to become talked down on and feel belittled by others, which starts to muddle her judgement severly. She starts to feel underappreciated and overlooked, even by her own family and friends, and starts to act out, jumping in at every opportunity to show her worth, even if it means jumping in where she doesn't belong, only to show herself up in a small series of misfortunes. This all rears its head after the night Buddy is cleverly lured into a trap by the villains. When progress in finding him is not fast enough for Tiny, her sense of good choices, which all the quadruplets worked so hard to prove in Adventure Island, is now completely clouded. She sees this as her chance, and takes matters into her own hands, sneaking off in the night to rescue Buddy all on her own and prove to everyone she can be a hero. But out in the wild it may take a new friend to show Tiny she might be a little in over her head, and that there's more to being a hero than fearlessness and determination... Just how far Tiny she get on her own?
