(One or two days after Gilbert, Trevor and Don got hurt)

Sonny: Fine, I’ve taken some time to calm down, and now I’m ready to rejoin to search

Mrs. Pteranodon: And Thurston?

Sonny: He won’t be rejoining. He feels that he needs to care for Gilbert right now

Mr. Pteranodon: And that if Gilbert recovers before we find either of the kids?

Sonny: Then that would still be up to him. But Thurston and Dad had forbade Gilbert from rejoining, and I respect their authority

(They stand in silence for a few seconds)

Sonny: Now. Let me get this off the table right now, and I’ll be informing Lorraine about this condition when we meet the Tyrannosaurus’ within the next hour.

Mrs. Pteranodon: You have conditions for you returning to the search?

Sonny: *his eyes darken* I will no longer tolerate being treated like I’m disposable and my only purpose is to bend over backwards for Lorraine the second she snaps her fingers! If she yells or screams at me or pitches a fit over me not doing things her way the second she demands it one more time, not only will I be pulling out of the search, but I will also revoke my permission to allow you guys to use my train in the search as well. Meaning you will have to look for another train to help you, or continue on foot.

Mr. Pteranodon: *places his hand onto Mrs. Pteranodon’s shoulder so she wouldn’t argue* Honestly, you’ve been more than generous to allow us to continue to use the train when you took the break…

Sonny: The conditions also apply to my staff. Every member. I am not going to allow my staff to be treated the same way, we all deserve better treatment than this! And if you fuckers think she should be allowed be a total bitch and asshole to me, and my crew including Tiny, and even think about defending her actions all because her kids are missing; do us all a favour and get the fuck off my train at the next stop.

Mrs. Pteranodon: *gasps* Sonny!

Sonny: It’s not up for discussion; either she stops and you guys stop defending, and excusing her bitchy and asshole attitude, or get the fuck off my train! Because I’m fucking done, and I’m only coming back for the kids!

(Sonny walks to the door, but pauses and glares at Mr. and Mrs. Pteranodon)

Sonny: For the record; I am fucking pissed at both of you for looking at Thurston like he’s part of the fucking problem for pulling out- our son is hurt, and he’s worried sick about him! You two would’ve- should’ve done the same thing for Don!!

(Sonny walks up and punches Mr. Pteranodon in the face, who falls to the ground)

Mrs. Pteranodon: *screams and jumps back in shock*

Sonny: That’s for not defending Tiny days ago, and for allowing Lorraine to be a bitch to your kids.

Mr. Pteranodon: *looks at Sonny with acceptance in his eyes, and nods* I deserved that.

Sonny: You’re fucking right, you do.

(Sonny leaves the train car, visibly angry; he slams the door behind him, leaving Mr. and Mrs. Pteranodon alone)

Mrs. Pteranodon: He- he can’t! We still need his help, and we still need the train!

Mr. Pteranodon: *stands up* Cameron/Ellen. We both know that if the circumstances were different, he would’ve kicked her off and banned her after the first blow up. He’s been more than generous and patient with everyone right now!

(Mr. Pteranodon looks at Mrs. Pteranodon firmly, she knows that he too is beginning to lose his patience)

Mr. Pteranodon: He’s right you know. All because her children are missing doesn’t give her the right to treat everyone who is trying to help like shit! It only drives them away, no one wants to be treated like that!

Mrs. Pteranodon: But she- but-

Mr. Pteranodon: Honestly, it’s unfair that he, and Thurston are being treated like villains for pulling out. Now, Sonny’s giving us a reason to see him as a villain.

Mrs. Pteranodon: *looks away, sobbing* …

Mr. Pteranodon: You better prepare. Because if Sonny punched me in the face, we both know Tilly’s gonna kick your ass when she hears what’s been going on with the kids…

DT headcanon theory! What if Mrs. Pteranodon is also adopted herself? She’s mentioned having siblings before (and maybe parents too but I’m not sure), but who’s to say they’re her birth family? What if they’re actually her adoptive family. I just think it would be neat if she shared this trait with Buddy—it would make their already close bond even sweeter and stronger, and feeds in nicely with her adopting in the first place, cause she was adopted too! ^^ Granted she probably was raised by other Pteranodons (maybe even Tilly’s family mayhaps? 🤔), but it would still be cute! And she just reminds me a lot of Miss Spider from Miss Spider’s Sunny Patch Friends (crossover when?) who was also adopted and went on to adopt kids herself so again, really cute idea that I’m running with!
