Having dinner at 3 pm wasn’t really what you intended to do today.
Yes, you could’ve just called it a late lunch and everything would’ve gone back to normal, but you were far too tired to even imagine having to get through at least another 7 hours of the day before you could even consider it alright for you to go to bed. You’d much rather it be 6 pm so that you could maybe work for a couple more hours and then call it an early night. That sounded much more enticing, though you could only wish for so much.
Your head throbbed lightly as you finished what was left of your “dinner” and begrudgingly returned to the laptop that sat on the table in the living room, joining Jeonghan who was writing something down in his notebook (you had no idea what it was because he never let you see it) on the couch. Before you even dared to open up the laptop and face the piles of work that were all nearing their deadline, you rested a head on his shoulder and let out a deep sigh.
Maybe pulling an all nighter wasn’t the smartest move out there, because running on two hours of sleep did you no good at all. Maybe it also wasn’t a good idea for you to say that you were capable of running out to get groceries this morning. That time could’ve been spent chugging out mindless words onto your documents and the long lines you had to deal with only nipped at your already thin patience.
Needless to say, it would’ve been nice for the day to be over and done with so that you could start tomorrow fresh, but the stubborn guilt of it only being the afternoon made you feel obliged to get something done. Oh, how you loved the pressures of life.
Jeonghan lovingly stroked your head when he noticed the frustrations practically radiating off of you and placed his notebook down to sit straight up. Then he returned the device sitting on your lap back to its former place on the table and grabbed your hands to pull you up (with some extra effort because your body felt like a brick at this point).
“Y/n you need to take a break.”
Rubbing your eyes, you tried to focus on his concerned face and found yourself leaning onto him a little bit more than you wanted to let show. You did really need to take a break — that you can admit — but still, you shook your head and tried to grab your laptop again. “I still have a lot of work to do ‘Han, it’s not night time yet, I can’t rest.”
He gave you a doting look and grabbed your shoulders to lead you to your room before you could go back to your laptop, and ultimately work. “If you’re not going to let yourself rest, then I will force you to rest because I swear you’re going to regret it later if you tried to stay awake to half-ass some reports just for the sake of that small satisfaction.” He lectured and gestured for you to get into your bed, wrapping the soft blankets around you.
“Stay here.” He left quickly so that you didn’t have time to open your mouth to oppose anything. “I’ll be back in just a bit.”
That just a bit was a little longer than just a bit, but you didn’t really mind. You laid on your bed, allowing your thoughts to wander as you drifted in and out of light sleep. The still-awake part of you listened to his occasional muttering from another room and the clinks of various utensils working against each other.
When he came back, his hands were busy holding a steaming mug of your favourite drink, a bowl of popcorn, and tucked in his arms were a couple of stuffed animals from his own bedroom. Despite having just eaten “dinner” you eagerly reached out to grab a handful of the snack while he cozied up beside you, putting the other things he brought down.
“Let’s watch a movie, your pick, and if you’re feeling tired go ahead and try to fall asleep, you need it.” He offered, hand snaking around your shoulder to pull you into his warmth.
“I can’t fall asleep though,” You insisted, pouting at the tempting idea of going to bed right then and there. “It’s not even evening and I’ll end up staying awake all night and not get any work done.”
“Y/n, please, you really need to get at least some sleep. Even if it’s just an hour or two. I’ll stay here with you to make sure that you don’t sleep for too long. Can you at least do that for me?”
Now, Jeonghan wasn’t one to use his pleading face that often — they were saved for very, very desperate moments, and he preferred to use his cunning ways instead. But today he gave you the softest look ever and you caved in, tiredly agreeing to his words.
“Okay, I’ll try my best.” You said quietly, finally allowing yourself to snuggle into the comfort of both your bed and boyfriend. He must’ve caught your eyes drifting to the clock that now only read 3:34 pm on the bedside table because he swiftly flipped it around so that it faced the wall.
“You didn’t see that.” He muttered as he drew the curtains together to get rid of the little light peeking through and you stifled a giggle at his artifice. Returning to your side, he planted a soft kiss on your forehead and smiled at you.
“It’s night time where we are, love, so let’s just take this moment to rest.”
bunbun would maybe like to request a sequel to the Joshushu fic you first wrote for me though? if that’s not too much trouble (〃▽〃)

a sequel to: smitten
a/n: hi bunbun !! ngl it took me a while to think of the plot for this cause i hadn’t thought about the sequel before, but then.. THEN it clicked. sorry if it feels a little similar to spoopenteen, my mind just kinda went down this path and i thought it was cute. it seems to be that i keep on giving joshua technical issues or something lol i’m so sorry i’ll do him justice next time… ily and i hope you enjoy:)
=====
A day hadn’t gone by where you haven’t silently thanked Mittens for practically setting you up on a date with your neighbour, and now boyfriend, Joshua. If it weren’t for her sneaky little maneuver back then, you don’t think you would’ve ever been able to muster up to courage to ask him out. So, you were infinitely grateful and your dog happily took advantage of your soft heart as an excuse for more treats.
With the proximity, it was nice to be able to send him off with a wave through the window every morning as he left to work, before heading off to do your own things. Dates between you two were always casual and easy because you saw each other so often, save for the few fancy nights he’d brought you out for dinner. Although living under the same roof would provide many benefits (money, resources, satisfying your longing to cuddle with him at night *cough*), you both agreed to stay at your own houses for the time being. As sweet as he was, you guys were still in the early stages of dating after all.
You also got to officially meet his rowdy friends who had crowded the driveway when he first moved in and all of them quickly took a liking to you. Their familiar faces would drop by to hang out with you guys every so often and you enjoyed being in each other’s presence. So really, could things get any better?
Maybe, if Mittens would stop betraying you and hogging Joshua’s attention whenever he stopped by. Just kidding you love her!
Today was an easy morning. With the current snowstorm pelting the weekend, there really wasn’t much for you to do besides stay in and pass time. The unexpected knock on your door did bring some life to your day, though.
Opening out to the front porch, you found yourself shivering at the cold gust of wind that entered your house. Maybe you should’ve worn a jacket first.
“Hello?”
At your doorstep, was your one and only boyfriend, backpack in hand and shivering as well. His nose and ears already dusted red from his short journey over.
“Hi, y/n.” He smiled, lips also clearly affected by the cold wind nipping at him.
“Josh! What brings you here?... Out… in the cold?” You took in his appearance and noticed that he seemed prepared for a sleepover of some sort.
“Okay so, here’s the deal—” You held out a hand to stop him.
“Come inside first, we’re both freezing out here for no reason.” You said and stepped aside to let him enter your house, stamping his feet at the front and taking off his thick coat. Mittens had now come over to greet her favourite person with some happy barks.
“So like, my heater broke.” He said flatly, partway through giving your pet some loving scratches behind the ears.
You caught yourself before you could laugh at his unfortunate predicament.
“So I was wondering if you’d be alright if I stayed over until it’s fixed?” He continued sheepishly. “They said they wouldn’t be able to send a mechanic in until tomorrow.”
“Stay over?” You clarified, trying to process his request. He sent you another sheepish grin at that and you quickly retracted you initial hesitation. In all honesty, you didn’t really need to put much thought into your answer when you said yes, because more time with Joshua — why not? And it’s not like you had something against it.
“Have you had breakfast yet?”
He shook his head. “Not really, I literally woke up, screamed in agony when I realized the heater was broken, screamed again when they put me on hold for almost an hour, and then screamed again when they said it couldn’t be fixed.”
“Aw baby, you should’ve come here sooner then.” You giggled, cupping his cold face into your hands. “Come, I haven’t started eating breakfast yet and the water’s still hot so make yourself a drink.”
=====
The storm only worsened throughout the day, and you found yourself glancing out the window every so often to see the snow gradually piling up on the grass outside. You dreaded having to eventually go out there and shovel all the snow out of the way, but more than that, you had this uneasy feeling that the power would go out at any moment.
Which of course, just had to be right.
You just finished a simple lunch with Joshua and was in the middle of tossing your old clothes into the laundry when the lights in the room shut off. Not long after, you heard soft steps padding your way and the flashlight from your boyfriend’s phone lit up the area in front of you.
“Did the power just…?” He started cautiously, eyeing the basket still half-full with your clothes
“Go out? Yes, yes it did.” You answered him with a sigh and nudged him to return to the living room.
“Wow, life’s just really going at us today, huh?”
“Yep, and there goes my heater too, I guess.” You joked a little pathetically at the situation. “What do you wanna do while we wait this out?”
Joshua hummed, deep in thought when you arrived at the dark room and then turned to you. “Would you by chance have any extra pillows and blankets lying around?”
“Like to keep us warm?” You questioned curiously.
“Yes, but no. More like if you have any that we could use to say... build a pillow fort?” He suggested with a childish grin which you promptly mirrored.
“Oh, I like where you’re going at that.”
=====
After about an hour of fussing over building the fort, the two of you stood in awe at your handiwork. For an impromptu decision executed in the dark, the two of you did a pretty good job — Joshua had even sprinted over to his house to bring over his own blankets and pillows.
“After you.” He sent you a sweet smile, lifting up the cover to allow you inside.
“Why thank you, kind sir.” You bowed, playing along with his little act. You then situated yourself on one side to make room for him. It was a little stuffy, but definitely enough room for both of you to shift around if you needed to.
By now, you had wrapped yourselves in one large blanket, courtesy of the family member who had gifted it to you a few years ago. In the middle of the fort was a dim lamp, using up the last bit of the energy its batteries held. It flickered occasionally and you silently wondered how long it would take for it to die out.
“So... what do we do now?” You voiced out loud and turned to stare at Joshua awkwardly. He returned the question with a small chuckle, just as lost.
“Good question,” He nodded, shivering a little as he did. “How about cuddles to help with the cold?”
“I won’t pass out on an opportunity for cuddles.” You readily agreed, fitting yourself into his open arms and leaning on his chest. In the midst of the white noise and strong wind blowing outside, you could hear his faint heartbeat against your ear.
“It’s a little warmer now, isn’t it?” He asked, to which you nodded, snuggling a little bit closer into him.
The room fell quiet again, minus Joshua’s soft hums which vaguely sounded like some sappy Christmas carols that you couldn’t quite pinpoint the name of, but you listened contentedly, enjoying the peace despite the circumstances. You licked your lips when you noticed how chapped they had gotten and then smirked when you thought of a brilliant idea.
“Hey,” You gently poked his cheek and he stopped his humming to glance down at your face. “My lips are cold, could you do something about that too?”

=====
It started the moment you arrived at his apartment to hang out. There was nothing much planned really, you just both had some free time to kill, and what better way to spend it than by each other's side? Even if it’s spent in silence, it was nice of at least have some company nearby. That seemed to be an issue for Yanan though.
For some reason, your boyfriend kept on throwing glances at you, attempting to be discreet, though it was with little success. If he thought he was being subtle — he wasn’t, because you always caught him staring in the corner of your eyes.
When you foraged through his fridge for some snacks, he watched you from the couch. When you were looking down at your phone to reply to a text, he watched you from the other side of the table. When you watched the movie together, he spent more time watching your face than he did the screen.
“Everything alright? There’s nothing on my face, right?” You finally asked after he looked at you for the third time within the last 10 minutes. You hadn’t done anything special with your outfit, nor did you do anything out of the ordinary for the rest of your appearance, so now you were wondering if was staring for reasons that weren’t so superficial. His eyes quickly darted back to the screen, where the main character just so happened to be in the middle of confessing to the love interest.
“Yeah, sorry, you look good — I mean, everything’s good.” He responded as he shook his head a little to get himself to focus.
You laughed at his adorable reaction and decided to leave it alone for the rest of the movie for his sake. Though, you still didn’t miss the last few glances he dared to send before diverting his full attention back to the movie.
=====
“Okay seriously, what’s going on Yanan? You haven’t stopped looking at me at all today, did I do something wrong?” You asked worriedly when you came out of the bathroom and came face to face with your boyfriend staring at you again. You swore you hadn’t done anything wrong, and yet you felt scandalous, standing there under his burning gaze.
Apparently, you weren’t the only one that was burning up because when you approached him, his face was all shades of red, and he buried himself into the hoodie he was wearing. You gently poked his long legs with your foot to encourage a response from him and he stood up from the couch to give you a hug, rubbing your back in reassurance.
“Everything’s alright, sorry for all the staring, I didn’t mean to scare you.” He apologized before ruffling your hair lovingly.
“Then is there a reason behind all of this? You can’t do this and then expect me to not be curious.”
The hand on your head froze and retreated so that he could fiddle with his sleeves. For all the staring he had done earlier, he seemed pretty adamant about looking at the floor now. He then muttered something under his breath and you could barely make out the quiet “you just look too cute for my own good today” — you just had to confirm it though.
“What was that?” You asked, trying to hold back the smile threatening the corners of your mouth.
Yanan flinched, like you weren’t supposed to actually notice that he said something. “N-nothing.” He replied and scurried towards his bedroom in an attempt to flee the scene before you could question him any further.
“Wait come back! I couldn’t hear you!” You called out, trying to catch up with him, but he had already shut the door and you could hear the faint click of the lock. Knocking twice, you still tried again. “Please Yanan,” You pouted, even though you knew he couldn’t see it. “I just want to know what you said!”
There was a long pause and you were about to drop the topic to leave him be, when he gave in and swung the door open to peek his head out.
“You’re just too cute for my own good today!” He suddenly shouted before slamming the door shut again in embarrassment. The lock clicked once more.
“I heard you the first time, but thanks for clarifying!” You laughed and heard him let out a groan from the other side. “I love you, Yanan.”
“... I love you too.” He replied quietly, and you could tell from his tone that he was the one pouting now. Despite the wide smile on your face, you let out a sigh of defeat and went up to the door again.
“Okay, how about I make up for that with some hugs and kisses?”
hi tiny i wld kindly like to request fluff prompt #1 w/ hongseok 🥺 congratulations again on 100 !! ily <3<3
Hongseok x Reader
fluff !! | 915 words
warnings: reader gets cut so there are mentions of blood, but there is nothing graphic:)
a/n: HI ANNA !! sorry this took a little longer,, it was literally the first one i started writing and then my mind immediately went flop. BUT NOT THE POINT!! thank you for requesting and the kind words<3 i hope you enjoy this:)
=====
It was odd how you got into this situation, the air in the lab stale as you stood a short distance away from Hongseok, staring at each other awkwardly, like deer in headlights.
Not too long ago, the two of you were sent to one of the science rooms down the hall to grab some extra beakers for class. Pretty straightforward, right? It was such a simple task.
So then how the heck did things turn out like this?
Perhaps you should start with the fact that it was probably too ambitious of you to try and grab two boxes of those beakers at once. Because the moment you did, the one on the top began to shift in your arms and your stomach did a little flip. Goddammit.
Before your thoughts could delve any further, you watched the box completely slip from your grasp and crash onto the ground with a thud, spilling the now broken beakers all over the floor. It was probably karma when you also reacted with a step back, only to step on one of the scattered fragments and trip, joining the glass on the floor.
There was a sharp pain on one of your hands and you bit down on your tongue when you realized that the glass had cut you, thankfully, not too deep or serious, but it did do a good job at hurting. Taking careful steps to stand back up, you sent a sheepish grin towards Hongseok, who seemed like he was still trying to comprehend what just happened.
“Oops.”
“Yeah, oops.” He echoed with a little pitying laugh, putting his own box down on a table to approach you. “Are you alright?”
You nodded your head immediately, shaking your hand a little as it drifted towards your shirt to wipe the blood off. “I’m good, don’t worry—”
He cut you off when he took your injured hand into his, inspecting the cut. “Dude, that doesn’t seem good to me at all, you’re bleeding!”
Your lips parted as you stared at the cut, not knowing what to say because you couldn’t really deny the blood right in front of you. “Yes, you’re correct.”
“Go wash it off first, you’re lucky I have some bandaids on me.” He instructed, reaching into his pocket to, indeed, pull out a bandaid. You silently noticed the cookie monster design through the translucent package.
"Do you always carry bandaids around with you or something?" You asked as you followed his orders, maneuvering around the broken glass to turn on the tap at one of the sinks nearby and wincing as the cool water ran over your cut. You also grimaced internally when you remembered how you'd have to pay the fee for breaking the equipment.
"Listen, you'd be surprised how many times I've had to pull out some medic shit 'cause none of my friends know how to take care of themselves. There's a reason why hardly any of them are allowed in the kitchen." He quickly defended and you laughed at the thought of how chaotic it must be at his dorms.
Returning to Hongseok, you held out a hand for him to pass the bandaid over, but he shook his head and grabbed your injured hand instead.
“Let me put it on, you need to make sure there’s enough pressure on it.”
"Huh? No, it's okay I can do it." You began to pull your hand away, but he kept a tight grip on it.
"I insist." He protested, and you gave into his kindness. You watched as his hands gently wrapped the bandaid over your cut, multiple cookie monsters now staring up at you, and a part of you started craving for the sweet dessert.
“Thanks for helping me out.” You looked up into his eyes and smiled, which he faintly returned.
“Of course, why wouldn’t I? I love you.” He said offhandedly, giving your hand a gentle tap to signal that he was done.
“You what?” You blurted out incredulously.
He stared at you blankly, eyes glazed over as he thought over his words. “Oh. Don’t mind that.” Hongseok stood straight up now and crumpled the leftovers of the bandaid’s package in his hand, making his way to the trash can at the doorway.
You continued to gawk at the dismissed proclamation. "You can't just stay that and then walk away! What if I love you too?"
Now it was his turn to be shocked, and you quickly slapped your hand over your mouth, scolding yourself for being so brash.
Which would bring the two of you to where you were now, staring at each other like you were in some sort of standoff.
"Well, do you?" He asked curiously, almost in a teasing manner, leaning onto the nearby wall and crossing his arms.
"I don't know, do you? You're the one who said it first." You frantically tossed back, and he rolled his eyes.
“Okay, so maybe I love you.” He answered dramatically, stretching out the “maybe” and acting like he was going to faint at his confession.
A bit relieved, you playfully scoffed at his antics and rolled your eyes. “C’mere.”
He obliged and walked over, allowing you to reach your (non-injured) hand up to pat his head. "Maybe... I love you too." You then admitted.
Despite the soft blush that dusted his cheeks, you watched the corner of his mouth quip into a small smirk, almost as if he was trying — albeit failing —to hide it.
Bold of him to return to his usual cockiness so quickly.

=====
The others had promised a movie night together to celebrate Wooseok’s “getting the laundry done before he had to be reminded to” achievement (though you’re pretty sure they just needed an excuse to watch a movie and used the first thing that came to mind).
They promised that movie night.
So then, where the hell was everyone?
They were the ones who planned the party, and yet they were also the ones who were remarkably late, citing “important company reasons'' that you didn’t really believe. For the past hour, it was only you and Shinwon, sitting on the cool floor of the dorms, bored out of your minds, listening to the air conditioner sputter to life sporadically.
That’s when an idea popped up.
Rolling onto your side, you faced the other man who was leaning against the couch, a can of soda in hand after prematurely digging into the snacks for the night.
“Hey.” You called out, tapping the floor to grab his attention. “Let’s play truth or dare.”
“Truth or dare?” He echoed curiously.
“Yep!” You hefted yourself into a sitting position and leaned your body towards his direction a little bit. “I’ll go first — truth or dare?”
His eyes wavered around the dorm as he tried to bring himself together at the sudden question. “Truth.” He finally answered, setting the can down on the floor.
You hummed at his choice for a moment, thinking about what to ask. “Okay, a weak choice I see.” You started, to which he interjected with a loud “Hey!”.
“Do you really think Hyunggu’s cute when he sleeps?”
He choked at the randomness of your question. “Where’d you get that idea?”
Eyeing everywhere but his face, you responded. “Well... maybe a certain someone told me they heard you muttering to yourself when you thought they were asleep, but I wouldn’t know for sure.” You tossed in that last part of your answer weakly.
Letting out an embarrassed cough to recover, he shook his head in slight disapproval. “Listen, all the children are adorable, so yes, he’s cute when he’s asleep ‘cause that also means he’s not busy being sensitive.”
You let out a chuckle at his answer and gestured for him to take his turn.
“Alright, truth, or dare?” He asked.
“Dare.”
“I dare you to go into Yuto’s room, steal his socks, and wear them on top of yours.” He said boldly, to which you shrugged. Easy enough.
Thankfully, Yuto’s room was kept nice and clean — fitting to the reserved boy — and it was easy to manage your way around and find the drawer that housed his socks, all neatly folded. Not to your surprise, they were all black, but a flash of bright yellow when you rummaged through the clothes caught your eye and you gawked at the neon pikachu socks that you pulled out.
“Oh... oh.” You laughed quietly to yourself at the thought of Yuto happily keeping the socks as his cute little secret and put them over yours. When you returned to the living room, you did a little spin before showing off your find to Shinwon who also donned a shocked expression at the socks.
“Those are Yuto’s?” He barely managed to gawk out. You swore the boy was going to find himself in trouble one day if he kept on choking so often like this.
“They sure are, I can show you where I found them if you need evidence.”
“No, no, I believe you.” He shook his head, still in awe. “It’s your turn now.”
The two of you continued throwing a variety of truths and dares at each other for the next while (seriously, what was taking the others so long?), and when it was your turn to be asked again, you opted for another dare — they were usually more entertaining than truths, and Shinwon usually didn’t disappoint.
Maybe it was because you were both getting tired of the game, or maybe he had some other pre-planned intentions. Whatever it was, he looked at you straight in the eyes, with the most serious expression ever, and opened his mouth, smiling a little.
“I dare you to kiss me.”
“Easy.” You replied without missing a beat.
He blinked twice. “Wait, what?”
“That’s the dare, right? If you’re serious and okay with it, I’m down.” You acted nonchalantly, but you honestly also didn’t mind it if you got a kiss from him, or even just an excuse to kiss him. That would be nice.
Shinwon fiddled with the collar of his shirt at your response, it didn’t seem like he was expecting that answer and he let out an awkward laugh. “Uh, well, I meant that as a joke, but if you’re alright with a kiss… then I won’t say no…” There was some silence before he spoke up again. “Is this like, serious? Or are you taking this as a joke?”
“Are you taking this as a joke?” You countered.
“...Not really.”
“Games aside, a kiss from Ko Shinwon himself would be quite nice.” You finally admitted out loud and scooted closer to him so that your faces were only inches apart. The tips of his ears were an adorable shade of red now.
“I guess since it’s my dare, I have to be the one who initiates it, right?” You smirked.
That was said as a joke, like how this whole dare was supposed to be a joke too, but he determinedly nodded through his blush.
Now it was your turn to feel flustered.
Ah, fuck it all.
Leaning in, you closed the gap and gave him a peck — a short kiss that almost ended too soon to your liking. When you pulled apart, Shinwon grabbed your shoulder from straying too far.
“C-can I have another?”
You covered your face with your hand, overwhelmed by the situation and the pride rooted deep in you argued that you couldn’t possibly let him know how happy you were to hear that question. Screw that pride though.
“Yes, you can.” You muttered into your hands. And so, you kissed him again.
Lost in your own world, or rather, his world, neither of you heard the front door open with a soft click until the chorus of groans and cheers erupted, causing the two of you to frantically pull apart.
“I told you something was going to happen.” Someone said as they kicked off their shoes.
“Are those my socks you’re wearing?” Yuto’s voice sputtered out.
“Those are your socks?!” Another voice shot back.
“That’s 5 bucks, Hui.”
A sigh. “Geez, I really should’ve thought this through.” Some shuffling here and there.
You felt your whole body burn in embarrassment at all the unwanted attention, but Shinwon, seemingly unfazed despite his previous stammering, just laughed loudly at their reactions before swooping in to give you another kiss.
