Part 2
My first instinct is this gag would work as a ten-second thing at the start of an episode. As a kid I watched Sliders, which had a lot of that kind of “Here’s a world which is a fun concept, but we have no idea how to build a whole episode around it, so we’ll just feature it for a single scene as they’re leaving or entering, and make a joke about it.”
My second instinct is I don’t know how you’d demonstrate the gag without it getting old well before the main characters left the car.
are they just muttering “spell spell spell” back and forth to each other
We gotta work on your counting, One-one.
Let’s just move on.
This joke is not saved by the written “spells spells” but by the “My Heart Will Go On”-esque music in the background.
That is the only thing that kept me from remaining stone-faced and going the rest of the short without posting, simply because I didn’t want to post “this isn’t funny enough to support an entire minute”.
