Tristan had a *very* unpleasant 4th of July weekend his first summer with us (he was outside when lightning struck a neighbor's tree), since which time he hasn't much cared for boom from the sky. I'm very proud of him, though. This year he has *mostly* gotten a grip on his Tiny Wrath.

Tiny Wrath: Yvaine had some Things to Say in her sleep last night. I think she was growling; she didn't make any sound, but that looks like the Little Mommydog was threatening somebody.

Tristan and Yvaine egg each other on, until they both end up yelling out the window. There are *huff*s and *boof*s and *bark*s and several Tristan *grrrrrrowf*s which are very very silly.

In the afternoons, Tristan watches out the window and barks at lizards, birds, falling leaves, pasture dragons, and tree branches gently moving in light breezes.

Yvaine faces away from the window. She likes to yell, and if she gets to barking, Tristan will keep excitedly barking, and they'll both get to yell angrily together. Fun for the whole family! But if Yvaine looks outside and sees there's nothing there, she'll grumble and stop barking. So instead, she faces away from the window so she can get in some good pleasant noisy Tiny Wrath without disillusionment.

If I need them to stop barking, I mostly have to tell Yvaine "go look out the window, there's nothing there." Often she grumbles and flumps to the ground without even checking.

If Yvaine IS looking out the window and barking, there's *definitely* something out there.

Yvaine, my honey, whatever you think you smell out there... in the dark... that is making you growl so ferociously... Honey, it can probably eat you alive. You weigh 23 pounds and have 11-year-old teeth. You're a *cocker*spaniel*.

Sweetheart, I need you to curb the Tiny Wrath and stay safely inside, okay?

Chasing something in her sleep. I think she caught it.

When she is awake, Yvaine chases Trespassers with Loudness and Tiny Wrath. (As soon as they are on her side of the fence, they are Welcome Guests, but she enjoys the yelling at Trespassers.) When she is asleep, Yvaine chases something in her dreams with extreme cuteness, tiny beeping noises, and the full fire of her Tiny Wrath. She seems to enjoy Tiny Wrath when she is awake, so I hope Yvaine is having good dreams. [Video Description: Yvaine, a white and red cocker spaniel, lays curled up sleeping.
