Turn up the volume and read the WHOLE caption before you comment please! Well, our Tiny Baby Thing (aka TBT) was really doing poorly last night. He was dehydrated, refusing to eat, and had lost a lot of weight. In an absolute last ditch effort we brought in Billy and Nurse Rached to see if they would help us care for our Tiny Baby Thing. We figured that they probably wouldn't still be lactating, but that they could clean the Tiny Baby Thing. Keep it warm, and let it suckle in hopes that it would be more willing to eat from us. Plus, Billy and Nurse Rached have a history of stealing and raising each other's babies so we figured they might be willing to take on another. So, we gave them the Tiny Baby Thing and Nurse Rached does what she has done with every baby, including Squeak, so far. She picked him up and ran around in circles with him while he squeaked, and then ran into the house and made a nest for him. So, Nurse Rached and Billy are taking care of our Tiny Baby Thing. They can't feed it since they aren't lactating, but now that TBT is warm, clean, and suckling it is much more willing to eat when we feed it. Today Tiny Baby Thing has gained a gram going from 3 grams to 4 grams! That's a whole lot when you're a Tiny Baby Thing, and is a huge improvement over yesterday when all we could do is try to feed him while his weight continued to go down. Thanks Billy and Nurse Rached for co-parenting with us again, and even bigger thanks for doing it for a Tiny Baby Thing that isn't even close to the same species as you! #hamster #tinybabything #tbt #coparenting #adoption #baby #weeklyfluff
