I interpret it as being told his quirk is no good. People probably told him he really isn’t special or talented because he’s just “borrowing” other people’s quirks. They’re the ones with exceptional powers and he just mimics. He’s riding the coattails of his “betters” so to speak
Yeah, that makes a lot of sense. It makes me sad no one in canon seems to actually want to make him feel better about it. I hope he gets an arc eventually.
