**UPDATE!!* the bee was alive the whole time

So remember in my last post when I said I found a dead bee on the stoop of our apartment?

It was ALIVE.

Now this is from days ago but I very carefully did my research *cough*someGooglepages*cough* and found out you're not supposed to give bees sugar water, really, but several sources said it was ok in small amounts, so I stirred up a sugar water solution and spoon-fed it to the bee in tiny increments. Then, when it got sunny out, I scooted it into the sunlight with the edge of a paper.

This was very scary because I am scared of bees.

Anyway when I went back outside, the bee had flown away!! So unless it got eaten by a bird or something, I was successful. And yes, I checked everywhere around the stoop for bee corpses, squished or otherwise, and found none.

I found a very drowsy, out-too-early bee while on a walk today and brought her home for a feast.

I’ve since learned that I ought to have used sugar water, not honey, to feed her but thought that this was still a photo worth sharing.

She drank up and flew off. Safe travels, small lady!

Tired Bumblebees Who Fell Asleep Inside Flowers With Pollen On Their Butts

Sometimes bumblebees get tired from flying and fall asleep in flowers with pollen all over their little furry bee butts. Like these lovely creatures here.

DO YOU REMEMBER THE TIRED BEES POST?

I found a tired bee and mixed some water and sugar for it on a tea-cup coaster.

She even drank a drop from my finger, i could see how it all went through her proboscis - so cute ;-;
