Thinking about the implications of Rouxls being the rules card and what that means for his mental state and the way he acts after being “abandoned” by the lightners. Spoiler free for chapters 2 3 and 4, just a long post.

In any card game, the other cards interact with each other, play off each other, and are used by the player. But the Rules Card? That doesn’t really interact with other cards. If anything, the player interacts with the card, then uses that information to interact with the regular cards. It’s always one degree of separation away from the other cards.

I would imagine this heavily influences how Rouxls acts. He’s desperate and “grateful” for any attention, (fully committing once he thinks he gets someone he can hang onto). Makes sense- people usually memorize the rules and don’t check them again after the first time. So he’d be attention starved right off the bat. His existence as the rules is so dependent on other beings: not only does he need a player to do anything, as it is his main purpose, he needs a set to be attached to.

In other words, a complete deck of cards on its own is still pretty valuable as long as you know some games to play, or you can hand it off to a friend.

The rules card has to come with a set of cards. Useless on its own (which would explain why he keep chasing after bosses. He needs a set, some kind of game to even be considered moderately useful), and it needs the full set or the rules don’t work. And if he isn’t considering as powerful in the set, nobody will obey his rules.

I honestly think he was probably a lot more relaxed before the knight put the other kings in jail. Several other sets to attend to, he had options. But when there’s just one, (King Spade), his desperation makes sense. If he falls out of favor with the last king, he’s worthless. There would be nobody to apply the rules to, because he’d be out of a position of power.

TL;DR: Is Rouxls power hungry? Yes but he has a reason because of the real-world object he’s formed from. (Also more touch starved and attention starved Rouxls content please)

My deltarune au where the only thing that’s different is that tenna knows that there’s three mikes and one of them is a pippins. (I might make a comic of the inciting moment)

(This started from me having the idea of battat being more comfortable with physical contact when he has the upper hand, like if he’s wearing the mike disguise or the other party just somehow can’t see him)

It happens not too long after spamton leaves: tenna is venting to “mike” (battat) about people lying to him, and battat gets really nervous because he doesn’t want to reveal who he is but he doesn’t want tenna to be hurt even worse later, so he asks Tenna to close his eyes (aka shut off his screen so he can’t see) and then he just

Grabs tennas hand, and he doesn’t know what to do at first, how to give away a bit of his identity to show he trusts tenna, without giving everything away, so he guides tennas hand under the fake microphone head, letting him feel that there’s a pippins shaped head under the mask (impulsive confidence boost from tenna not being able to see what’s happening. Battat loses what little sleep he already gets over that for weeks)

Tenna is surprised but comforted (freaking out internally but he sees how nervous “Mike” is and doesn’t want to make it worse). He starts asking questions about the other appearances “Mike” has, and battat lets it slip that those are actually two other darkners. Yet for some reason (gay gay homosexual gay) Tenna finds himself more interested in figuring out which pippins this is.

The next part of the au gets wonky, but I do know that Tenna figures it out when he takes battat (maybe with a group of other pippins he suspects) to Card Kingdom (yeah ik the timeline is messed up it’s a battena centric au allow it).

OK OK HEAR ME OUT SPAMVIL/SPAMTENNA/SEAMVIL NATION

Spamton doubling down on his relationship with Jevil after Tenna doesn’t recognize him.

Jevil feeling conflicted but enjoying the attention, how Spamton is suddenly putting up with his jokes, playing along no matter what he does. An unconditional partner for his chaos, even if it doesn’t really feel genuine.

Spamton desperately clinging to the one person who still links to his golden past and his rotten present/future. The one person who remembers him as he was and sees him as he is. (Since he sees all the other Addisons as flakes and traitors)

Spamton seeing the King mention Seam, panicking and praying that Kris doesn’t hand Jevil over to them.

Jevil seeing Spamton get nervous and possessive, wanting to reunite with Seam but knowing he’s the only link that Spamton thinks he has left

Hey to anyone who still thinks Billford isn’t even implied at the very least:

On thisisnotawebsite (which is an official website linked with the Book of Bill) there is a computer. You can type words into the computer. If you type in the words “Breakup”, “Divorce”, or “Rock Bottom” into the computer, the computer will bring up the logo for a place called “O’Sadleys”.

Now, why is this significant?

Because. O’ Sadley’s is the bar that Bill went to after the portal incident with Fiddleford. Aka after his “partnership” with Stanford went sour. And what words are associated with that logo? BREAKUP (which I admit can have a platonic use) and DIVORCE.

Look, as someone who's joke-flirted and dad-joked and joke-bullied my way into unintentionally seducing someone (on two separate occasions), I am in a place of authority to say

You can in fact wind up with 'a bad bitch i pulled by being autistic.' It's not just a joke.

I don't ship it but platonic Krusie and romantic Krusie are equally possible (as someone who accidentally recreated Susie's pov)

Susie-like vibes are something you can give off in a positive way without knowing you're doing it

If you are trying to and are comfortable with coming off as cool and masc, you probably are doing it better than you think.

Corestrings is pretty cute I think.

If the soul is the snowgrave one? Gaster matches their energy with the amalganates and all his weird little experiments. He too pushes things to the limit to see where they go and how bad it gets

Wholesome soul? Wholesome Gaster creating things for them to explore, learning together.
