What are your reflections about the whole educational tour? Focus on your learnings and insights.

I have learned that I have chosen one of the best courses that this generation could offer, which is Information Technology. Technology is indeed speeding high in the 21st century and the world has so many opportunities that they could offer to us. The field of IT is broad, which means that we could work with almost anything, anywhere. Since technology is often used nowadays in almost every company, agency, factory, business, etc., we certainly have no excuse that we would remain jobless in the future. 

All it takes is hardwork, faith, determination, and confidence in one’s self and in God.

What aspects of the educational tour could be improved? Other comments?

I think that the College and the Travel Agency should work hand in hand in order to achieve the goal of the educational tour, which is to open the eyes of the CICT students to fields and work opportunities relating to their course. It would be better to maximize the time to visit more huge companies, or perhaps even just a tour in the IT Park, which our batch was not able to do so.

Logistical Support and Arrangements

Rating scale: 1 = LOW, 3 = MEDIUM, 5 = HIGH

1. Support from Travel and Tour company - 5

The Sanera Travel and Tours were very accommodating, friendly, and open towards us. I never had any experience wherein I was troubled by their service.

2. Accommodation - 3

The hotel was a bit off, considering the sketchy elevators, the malfunctioning doorbells, and we were not able to utilize some facilities. However, the staff were okay and well-mannered.

3. Food - 5

Need I say more?

4. Companies Visited - 2

I was expecting a lot more big IT companies to be visited, but it turns out we only went to one. The rest were not as relevant to our course.

5. Co-participants - 5

I was able to make new friends from other classes and the tour made it possible to create an opportunity to bond with other people.

Technology Used/Best Practices: Various devices for weather prediction

What I have learned from this company: It takes a tremendous amount of effort and money to get the prediction for the weather. However, it is a great leap for mankind when it comes to the field of Science and Technology. If you travel back in time, who would have thought that a balloon could be able to tell us if today is going to be a rainy day or not?

Reflection on the relevance of my learning to my course/future career: Software Development skills could be used in this agency.
