My 356th edit and if curious first 335 edits, can find here from my former account. HAPPY HOLIDAYS AND A NEW YEAR! I had to make this huge edit as screw it, wanted to make a surprise edit to bring holiday cheer. I would have done before where was Disney princesses and heroines separate, but felt all these non-Disney ladies together. Besides if you really get to the nitgretty details, only really five ladies are truly non-Disney equivalents to a true princess. Those being Glory, Thumblina, Odette, Darla, maybe Yum-Yum, and Snow White. Could maybe make a claim for Asenath and Yum-Yum, but the rest stand well on their own. So why I clumped up with who? Pastels (Glory, Thumblina, Amathlea), Dreamworks ladies (Marina, Chel and Asenath), more earth-tones (Akima, Odette, and Darla), complimentary colors (Yum-Yum, Kaylee, and Snow White), and the one Fairy character (Crysta). If not too bold or immodest, the characters outfits all look so true to their given characters. Marina I know could argue no, but hey I am the editor, and I adore her indigo colored outfit. I used Princess Glory's castle as she is the first ever non-Disney princess, so it felt fitting scene.
I did include Princess Yum-Yum, even felt in questionable taste to put her (and a few other characters in such outfits, although Tuptim barely got passed this judgment call as the King and I is very far removed from the real people it was, let's say, inspired it) in such a busty outfit. That and Yum-Yum's movie as much I love it, finding good images in HD, is very hard. I was unsure to include Don Bluth's Anastasia, as sure it is not based off the real life Anastasia Romanov as in a weird way, the animated movie kinda historical fiction if I think about it. However unlike Disney's Pocahontas (I am uncomfortable editing with the human characters), I am still figuring out my stance with Anastasia. Additionally, I did include Tuptim only 'lost' as in my research is not anyone pin down real, but she inspired by people. However I do not mind using Tuptim in edits I want to clear up. Just between her and Yum-Yum I was unsure. As well her outfits are not fictionalized like let's say Princess Yum-Yum.

Me: I mean all things considered in terms of like... concepts and experimenting with 2D and CG animation, Don Bluth was really pushing animation in a direction I wish we had gone further in and invested more in back in the late 90′s and early 2000′s-- like, not as exploitative feeling as Heavy Metal and Bakshi’s stuff, but definitely pushing animation in a more adult-oriented direction. It’s really remarkable how--

Me: OH GOD MAKE IT STOP MAKE IT STOP MAKE IT STOP--
I often wonder if their is some lost sequel or comic book spin off continuation of this movie. It’s such a hidden gem that not only aged well for being a 20yr old movie but also didn’t get it credit due to poor advertising. Despite not having storyline issues it had potential for a rich lore that wasn’t fully tapped into or realized in the more. Part of me wished it was a Disney production film because then at least they would have had adequate promotion. Down side being they would have milked it for all it worth and ruined it with over comedic saturation which would taken away from the darker overtones of the movie but would it be worth it for more lore? No lol I’ll take with what it was and hope it’s not brought back and destroyed.
