To Alphys: Boss monsters must operate on a similar logic seeing as they're immortal unless they are pouring magic into creating another life. That means their magic is entirely self sustaining. Once they're grown, no magic comes in and no magic slips out. Could the same be achieved artificially one day by observing them?

Alphys: Perhaps...I-I will say, we actually have no way of knowing if Boss Monsters are truly immortal, because they all die from having children, volunteering for euthanasia, or experiencing an accident, murder, or illness...they are only immortal t-to our understanding of them. It is fully possible that they just have an incredibly long lifespan that we've never seen one reach the end of.
The-the reason for their presumed immortality has been mysterious to us for q-quite some time, and it's only recently that I-I have actually been able to f-find an answer to this, from Meth's research!
The answer is...w-well, it's that Boss Monsters were birthed from remnants of the Titan's very SOULs! The r-rest of Monsterkind were born from its other organs! In simple terms, they are the closest of all of us to BEING a Titan! And I can't imagine a way we c-could mimic such a thing, c-considering all the SOUL remnants are long g-gone. Perhaps t-there could be a way to replicate whatever genetic code Boss Monsters have, but...I can foresee attempts at t-that having dire consequences.
We haven't had success in editing genes the way Humans have. It's always resulted in...mere suffering. So, first, w-we'd have to somehow learn how to successfully edit Monster genes in the first place...but because of-of how poorly that's gone over in the past, i-its presently a banned science. A-And regardless, we still have no guarantee that the genes itself would pass on this presumed immortality, or-or if there's something deeper to it. We know very little about Titan biology, after all...
To Alphys, about Titan Remnants: Is it theoretically possible to achieve immortality for monsters with this magic storing substance? You said it keeps a monsters soul from shattering. A monster dies when its soul can no longer maintain a magical physical body. So technically this substance can keep a monster together indefinitely, right?

Alphys: N-now, I can only speak t-theoretically, but...from what I've d-determined in my research...in order to maintain immortality, the magic of the remnants w-would need to be applied m-multiple times a day. And that would be...dangerous, back-to-back. The raw nature of the magic is only safe in m-moderation.
It's kind of like...how X-Rays are safe for a patient, b-because you aren't exposed to it for a very long time. B-But doctors who do X-rays on patients r-regularly still step out of the room or hide b-behind glass, because if they didn't, t-they'd be exposed to scatter radiation frequently, which adds up over time, a-and could lead to-to complications like cancer.
Except...with, um...with Titan remnants...the effects would be much faster and...f-far more disastrous.
So...if there were somehow a-a way to prevent the negative effects of unfiltered magic...t-then...yes, it could be used to-to achieve immortality. But I-I doubt that will be happening a-anytime soon, if at all.
To Alphys: What are Titan Remnants, and how did they help with your project?

---------------
Alphys: Oh, oh! W-What a-an exciting question! Titan remnants a-are a very f-fascinating magical ph-phenomena!
Y-you see, b-back in the ancient times - a-and I mean TRULY ancient, prehistoric - there-there were these m-massive creatures that we now call Titans. T-They consumed the m-magic radiating from the world around them - plants, minerals, a-animals, you name it! It was their food source...and-and I don't mean they ate the things producing this magic, but rather they consumed the magic itself! They were enchantovores.
But, what-whatever it is that killed the dinosaurs...it-it also killed them. At least, that's w-what seems to have been the case. And r-rather than leaving behind bones...they left behind clusters of magic! Clusters that-that continued to consume, even after death. These c-clusters, these Titan remnants, they drew in magic f-from nature, just as Titans did during their time alive...and-and since that magic was-was attempting to feed a being that no longer existed...it created new beings...Monsters!
All the Monster species you see now, they were-were birthed out of these remnants! That's why we're all enchantovores, too! Slowly, one by one, these remnants would become used up, h-having distributed all their magic into these new forms. But still, they birthed thousands of species!
T-Thats why we monsters, we all are "based on" specific things. The remnants drew magic f-from the world around it! F-For example, if it consumed the magic of reptiles, it created Reptilian Monsters! Aquatic animal energy to Aquatic Monsters, Amphibian energy to Amphibious Monsters, mammal energy to Mammalian Monsters, Bug energy to Bug Monsters, bird energy to Avian Monsters, element energy to Elemental Monsters, decomposing energy to-to Undead Monsters! And since we a-all came from Titans, we all have the-the ability to interbreed, to create Chimerian Monsters!
As-As you can probably guess...Titan remnants are much rarer now, be-because they kept getting used up while producing us...but a few remain, dormant. T-These last remnants, their reason for dormancy is that t-they formed from an organ of the Titan made to preserve magic, rather t-than digest it...so instead of creating Monsters to digest the magic, it instead just collected and collected until it-it reached full capacity, and then sits where it is...
All that r-raw, unfiltered magic...it has a-a potency unlike any other source of magic y-you'd ever find. A single drop c-contains just as much magic as an e-entire human soul...the potential, the power of it, i-its immense. But it's unfiltered nature, it makes it unfit f-for a lot of traditional uses. Dangerous, even.
A-Anyways! It's magic h-has something special, a component that-that keeps Monster souls f-from shattering when in contact w-with it! It acts as-as a soul stabilizer! This component, i-it is why we can now do-do direct surgeries on Monster souls! And since it has such a-a high potency, you don't e-even need to use a full drop to do it!
Currently, m-my project is to try and create new Titan remnants, by grafting off of the existing ones and allowing t-them to grow, so that w-we won't ever have to worry about running out and l-losing access to this procedure. But even if the grafting fails, with t-the sheer size of-of the remnants available, we'd h-have the ability to continue this for r-roughly 7,000 years b-before it would become a concern...still! B-Better to try and tackle the issue before the source becomes scarce!
Considering that the black shard deals additional damage to both titan's spawns and the titan themself, I think it's safe to assume that The Roaring Knight would be strong enough to solo a titan.
cause in the jackenstein fight, his eyes glowed and we got the tp restriction from darkness, because adding light to darker than dark brings it closer to 0
and the titans have the same mechanic
it's also been shown that they're not ENTIRELY constructed out of darkness. When guarding with its wings, the titan in ch4 does not take extra damage from the dark shard (which deals extra damage to dark type enemies)
