Why are Unite Warriors/Titans Returns so bad?
With a recent picture of Unite Warriors Lynxmaster, fans get a modern day interpriation of the likes of Hound, Wheeljack, Sky Lynx Trailcutter and Ratchet but why are they so bad?
Just what age range are these toys aimed at? Sure they’re fun as a gesault, (Despite the horrible elbow knee joints like Powercore Combiners, usually some bots lower legs from robot mode) but to what end? Firstly let’s talk about the poor quality plastic, it looks cheap and nasty. They don’t so much as have faces but smelted smush for faces, and these are supposed to be deluxes? I seriously tried to let them off when I thought they were just legends figures but some with have simple horrible ball joint - well, joints.
Like the Power Core Converters, which again I only liked the singles not the combiner groups as those limbs never had bot modes), it looks like quality was passed over for the sake of quantity, that being the gesault figure end result. Even the animated line, some fans hated the contorted figures and yes season #1 was rocky but got better and thus the toys got liked alot. Helped after when the Prime series was also lapped up figure wise thanks to the series. Even some of the early classics waves despite some faults, (Looking at you Galvatron! Should’ve been a voyager!) looked better made. Even Titans Returns suffers with hollow arm/leg syndrome, bad joints, the recent picture of Hot Rod - the head is very standard and you can hardly see the flames on the hood with that shade of orange. Triggerhappy, Breakaway (Getaway) and Twinferno (Doublecross) look solid - so why does Hot Rod look so - cheap?!
I can honestly see why more turn to third paty, with officials the prices go up and the plastic gets cheaper. I pity the kids thyese days.
I’m sure you’re going to say - “If you don’t like them, don’t get them then”, well let me save you the trouble as I’m no longer a collector any more anyway.
