A sigh leaves his lips as he set on the foot of the hotel bed, phone to his ear as he talks to TJ updating him about what all is going on during this hunt with his brother. “I dont think I’m gonna be able to make it, babe” a small pause as he waits for some sort of upset response from his husband. “I want to go and be there for you but this is taking longer than I expected...” feeling bad for even taking this case but Sammy really needed his help and wanted him to go. “How are you and Jay boy doing otherwise. I miss you guy.” now laying back looking up at the ceiling as he talks on the phone running his fingers through his hair and a deep breath leaving his lips. Being away from home now almost a week was starting to take a toll on him, having been out of the game for so long now. Old habits die hard and it was decently easy to slip back into routines, but Dean had a family now which changed things.

“Babe! Come on, lets go were gonna be late if you keep messing with your hair.” Calls the Winchester up the stairs, standing there waiting for his husband with keys in hand. Leave it to the former first son to primp in the mirror be what makes them late. Then again he couldnt complain at the same time because he appreciated and loved how damn good he looked every time they went out. “I’m gonna go start the car.” taking keys from his pocket and heading towards the door. Dean was actually excited about going to the fall festival thing in town that they could mingle with and the pumpkin patch that he was looking forward to taking TJ to. He does a quick once over himself, smoothing hands over his chest and down his pockets making sure to have his wallet, phone and watch on- as he was notorious for walking off without his wallet and needing it.

“Alright...” groans the man as he pulls the blankets back on their king sized bed. “The car is packed, and all we gotta do is get up in the morning and get in the car and go.” Dean says settling beside his husband, he knew to take care of all the little details as TJ wasnt good at handling the stress that came with all of that when going on a trip. Learning that the hard way when they first got together and would travel with the former first sons mother; the Winchester had stepped in early on and took care of the like things. “Set an alarm so we dont sleep to late.” moving closer to the middle to be closer to TJ, an arm going around him to hold him close as he liked to cuddle before going to sleep.

Finally, Dean was beginning to think the day was never going to end for him. Work had practically taken up all his time today after promising that he was only running down to give out checks and grab some paperwork to give to their bookkeeper. Eight hours later-- the Winchester sighs while sitting in the car looking up the walkway to their front door. “Thank god.” murmuring to himself before heaving his dirty greasy self out of the car and into the house.  “Babe!” calling out as soon as he opened the door, already taking his jacket off and hanging it up the while juggling a bag of goodies and a starbucks drink. “I’m home, I got stuck down at the shop.. a couple of the guys called in. Something about sick kids and a death in the family.” explaining himself as he walks through the house trying to find his husband. Jay had gone to hang out with his brother for the weekend leaving the boys alone to spend some time together- in which Dean spent the first day working. In which he also took the precautions in buying some of the former first sons favorite things before coming home. He may not be able to avoid the blow but at least he could soften it some.

“So who all will be here tomorrow?” Dean asks as hes folding blankets and sheets along with extra towels that he had washed for the guest bath and bedrooms. “I know you mom and brother... I assume nana is coming too?” trailing off hoping he was wrong for the simple fact she liked to flirt with him and had no shame about it. But the Winchester had to admit that she was entertaining when she was drunk- which was the majority of the time she was awake. “Have you heard if your dad is at least gonna come and have dinner with us on Thanksgiving day?” Jay, their son now babbling something as he attempts to help Dean with folding the laundry.

He’s standing in the kitchen making himself a sandwich, ingredients out everywhere in front of him in the cabinet. All the meats, cheeses, lettuce, onion, two different kinds of mustards— all of it. All the fixings like he eas making a sandwich you’d see scooby doo and shaggy eating. “So.. what’s the plans for the holidays? I figure we better start making the arrangements now if we expect to fly where ever it is we are going.” Balancing his masterpiece of a sandwich on the plate he’d gotten down for himself. “I figured we would be going back to DC to your moms but I talked to Jody and the girls the other day and she wants us to come up and see them again. I told her I would talk to you and see what you thought or what our plans were.” Meanwhile in the pantry getting some chips to go with his monster of a sandwich.

“I made dinner, but I make no promises as to what it taste like. I tried.” He says setting the plate of food he had fixed onto the table in front of the other. “Its not even out of a can or a heat and serve thing. Made it all myself.” boasted Dean  as he went back to the kitchen to grab two glasses and a bottle of wine to go with their dinner. As the man had said he made no promises, but he did try to make sure that this was going to be edible despite his efforts in the past where things didnt turn out so great. Maybe this time had turned out better than the last and they wouldnt have to be ordering pizza or some other take out.
