That sounds like a fun project to work on.
Here’s a quick demo video for how the 20/20 Armor system works! Only based on how hard you hit, super easy to use!

What is that foot glove thing?
Daedo sensor socks (foot guards)!
They are the way points register in a taekwondo match. It’s an electronic system. Essentially our chest protector that we wear in high performance sparring have magnets in them. These protectors have magnets too! When you hit the chest protector with one of these, it breaks the magnetic field, registering a hit, the psi of the hit, and a point (or points) goes up.
There’s another system called KPNP that I highly dislike, but essentially the same concept.
It depends. In that video I was just trying to balance on the dock. It was shaking a lot so I raised my heel.
However I always raise my heels when fighting as it allows me to pivot my feet and react faster. For poomsae (patterns/forms) I think they try to kick without raising heels which is quite difficult.
