Yes, I cheated and watched all the episodes on YouTube up to the most recent one cause ain't no way I was finna be left out or get spoiled lol. So go back now if you have no knowledge of anything past episode 16!

Okay, so episode 16 really got me thinking about MC's fate, the Institution, Darkwick and the staff.
That prophecy...what if the champion is MC? I'm absolutely sure this isn't an original theory or thought and I would love to hear anyone's thoughts on it. You two year vets probably have it all figured out.
The prophecy says, “The whisper of the new moon shall lead the champion to the Academy on the solitary isle. So long as the champion resides there, the world shall be sheltered from profound tragedy...”
Obviously, this means the staff of Darkwick have an invested reason to keep MC at Darkwick no matter what. They also have a reason to not have her curse broken. Though I think that reasoning backfires. The profound tragedy befalls Darkwick itself as with what happens in episode 24. At least it seems like it.
I can't quite say the staff don't care at all about the students. I just think they are very beholden to the Institution, which is obviously the real issue. Which leads me to....
Elias has gotta be the spy. If it's anyone else, I might back have a seizure because there AIN'T NO WAY. It doesn't make me hate him though, if anything, I'm intrigued. Because the Institution must be holding something over his head. Like his mom. He was hiding cleaning in the bushes at the end of episode 16 and obviously heard the conversation about killing Hyde. He knew they would be there because of MC (not her fault) but he honestly had no reason to be there. And then with what we saw of him in the recent episode, I think everyone's suspicion has grown stronger. I love that he's from New Orleans tho? Idk, when I first learned his name, it didn't occur to me that he was American. Dang anime brain. In hindsight, how they choose to translate some of his lines makes sense. Like adding "dear heart" is a nice touch actually. Anyway, bro is sus. Leave Haku out of the discussion from now on 😂
My next thought is Hyde. My Gojo wannabe is obviously the most sus character since he hides everything so well with his flippant attitude. But with him seemingly plotting to kill Romeo, Sho warning MC before her session with him, and even Hodge & Podge giving him a hard time often once in a while....something is up. I saw mentions of him being more interested in what will happen to MC when she turns versus actually breaking her curse and honestly, yeah, I see it. He's a researcher, that's his bread and butter. Those counseling sessions are probably to understand as much as possible about a person before they become a Kykolos. It'll go right into his research papers and earn him renown in the Institution, which I'm supposing he's on the side of. Elias has gotta be reporting stuff back to him.
There's also this comment by a Japanese player in the discussion of episode 16.
"The flower pictured in Romeo's warding card is called a snowdrop and in the flower language it means, "I am wishing for your death".
This sort of gagged me, ngl. Because he's really trying to take out our local loudmouth pretty boy, lol. 🥲 How dare he.
Also this comment was just funny because they're just guessing at Romeo's acronym meanings this episode. 😂
Konkai no Shin Fiigo? = This Episode's New "Figo" <high quality but simple play on words and word combination ::: Romeo's "Fico" + "Go" the Kanji used to signify a language (Nihongo = Japanese). Go sounds like Co. This is Romoe's own language, therefore "Figo" or we can say "Ficonese">
S*W*G [shitsuke no] [warui] [gaki] = untrainable brat
E*K*J [eseyarou no] [kuso] [jijii] ? = fraud geezer?
C*C*C*C [chirachirachirachira] = onomatopoeia for at least 4 things 😭 I'm gonna guess "glancing" cause I don't remember the context.
kana??? Muzukashii desu. = Maybe??? Its difficult.

Anyway, that's all I have to say. I most likely said some stuff most of y'all been figured out or understood. Just wanted to yap and possibly be yapped to about tkdk because I'm invested in the story. 🙋🏾♀️
