TKO Rules!: A Commentary and Review
The theme song was great. I guess you could say that it...rules...
Carol lets KO stay home alone for an hour, but KO is too tempted to take another cookie and retreats to his mindspace. TKO manipulates KO into letting him take control for the hour and trashes the entire house, breaking as many of Carol’s rules as he can. KO eventually figures out what he’s done and brings TKO back into the mindspace. He then cleans the house and apologizes to his mom about eating all of the cookies before causing everyone who watches this episode to scream simultaneously because he shOVES TKO INTO THE SUBCONSCIOUS. IN ONE OF THE MOST CRUEL WAYS POSSIBLE FOR HIS CHARACTER. AND THEN THE EPISODE ENDS.
This doesn’t get easier to watch no matter how many times you do it. Ow.
Carol gives KO a cookie despite him having said that he ate all of them already? Not sure how that lines up, but he didn’t end up eating it.
KO’s somewhere between some serious retelling and twisting of how the events of the episode went down and straight up lying. The only truth was that he ate all of the cookies. And he didn’t even do that consciously, since it was TKO in control at the time.
One of Carol’s Rules was that KO had to clean up any mess that he made, but he doesn’t ever do anything about the dent in the floor he makes (until the end, obviously. KO knew that the floor cracked immediately after he dropped it, though, so it’s a little strange.)
KO can force TKO back into their mindspace and he can summon objects more easily.
This episode is really hard to not pause and scream at, which is fortunate because of all of the hidden frames.
Speaking of the hidden frames, I don’t have a solid theory in what they’re supposed to mean past TKO not being able to fully control his actions due to his nature as KO’s (likely repressed) negative emotions. Hopefully we’ll find out in the finale.
Rating: 10/10. It’s freaking hard to watch, but there isn’t enough wrong with it to give it a 9/10.
Number of holes in roof: 0. I have to admit I wasn’t expecting this.
