Since both Sebastian and Claude are demons by birth and don’t possess human emotions to fully comprehend (only mimic them), will they learn the difference between obsession and pure love for Yuri? And if so, how will Yuri make them recognize it? PS: I love your works over on Fanfiction with AKTMP, TK2H, Janus, and Scandal, as well the rewrite TLATS, Scent, Pandora, and Vampire’s Flower. I look forward to any next update, when you can.
I’ve been reading the manga since chapter 1 and for me, I really think Sebastian is not as emotionless or unaffected by Ciel and humans he comes across as he think he is. Particularly in Green Wich Arc, where he was shocked to find himself crying despite being unable to do so or having an apparent worry for Ciel’s safety beyond what one would for what he would consider food.
I’ve highlighted a bit of the notion that demons cannot feel and cannot learn to feel on Yuri and Sebastian’s spin off ‘Name’ where I compared him as a baby, tabula rasa - as someone who experience without feeling or understanding. Hannah’s statement toward Yuri being ‘the angel that will make the devil repent’ is the theme of the story and in this instance, that redemption is the bringing life to emotions demons (and Ciel/Alois) lack/lost.
For the demons, I think they’d mistake this as fondness as one would for a pet. The desire to have it near them, protect them, nurture them. As you would of pet dog or cat. For Sebastian, he probably would equate his feeling for Yuri on equal level as a cat and for Claude, spider. It would be a long time and lots of life threatening situation will they realise Yuri’s significance to them.
For Ciel and Alois respectively, it would be denial and borderline obsession. Ciel knows the only way he could protect Yuri and what’s good for her is for her to lead life without him (Ciel) and he’d put her happiness first before his desire to keep her by her side.
For Alois, it would be quite passionate and obsessive from his side. He’d try to incorporate himself into every inch of her life and he’d have lot insecurity of his place in Yuri’s heart and Yuri will find it hard to have him understand that she’d always stay with him with or without everything he buys for her in effort to tie her down to him. He would think he’d have to constantly buy her mansions, lands, villas, luxurious dress, jewels etc to keep her happy and by him. Yuri will probably be fed up and be like ‘I don’t need this, all this! You’re enough!’ It’d be confusing for him to comprehend how a person can be satisfied with just having someone like him alone. It’d be a relationship where Yuri must have lots of patience, understanding and perseverance.
