Hoseok + Seokjin
Hoseok crept through the halls quietly, mentally cursing the Fireflies for making their lab on the upper floors of the building. Normally Hoseok could be in and out through the window within minutes, but it’s relatively hard to do so when said window is on the fifth floor. He already had an arrow nocked and ready, but so far he hadn’t come across any Fireflies. A shame really since he’s been itching to kill some.
Pushing the door open, he breathed a small sigh of relief at the empty hallway, the laboratory on the other end. Hoseok glanced in each room he passed by, just to make sure there wouldn’t be an surprises later. They were all empty, except for the lest room on the left, just before the lab. It looked like a makeshift infirmary, with a lone doctor it seems, jotting down notes. There wasn’t any patients at time being, but Hoseok knows there will be soon if he meets any Fireflies on his way out.
Slipping through the double doors, Hoseok hastily searched the empty room, surprised and disappointed that it was empty. His crew had reported to him that majority if not all, of the Fireflies were going on some field expedition, and Hoseok sent his crew to tail them and recover any information they could. So he knew the building would be empty but still, where’s the fun if there’s no one here?
Papers were scattered across the surface of the tables, and Hoseok skimmed through them quickly, hyper aware that anyone could walk in. Most were merely observation notes, but Hoseok frowned as he continued reading about experiments that were escalating from rats to monkeys and other various animals they could find in the forest on the outskirts of town. Hoseok knew it wouldn’t be long before human subjects would be considered, and it disgusted him.
A sound drew his attention as he spun around, eyes widening upon seeing one of the test monkeys escape from it’s makeshift cage. It was clearly infected and quite rabid as it charged towards Hoseok. He released his arrow, inwardly groaning as the monkey jumped; the arrow only hitting it’s shoulder. It jumped on him, teeth bared as it attempted to bite him.
Not today, he thinks, as he pulls out his shiv. The monkey was stronger than he first assumed, most likely hyped up on whatever the scientists had been giving it. He stabbed it, wedging the shiv into it’s rib cage as he maneuvered over to the window. With a good amount of force (and shrieking on the monkey’s part), Hoseok pushed it through the glass, eyes widening as the monkey’s grip tightened, pulling him out part way. He withdrew the shiv and stabbed again, this time in the head as he shoved the monkey off, watching it fall five floors below.
With a groan, Hoseok slid down to the floor, back resting against the wall under the window sill. He winced at the sharp pain resonating from his right thigh. During the whole window fiasco, Hoseok had somehow managed to cut his thigh, a good sized piece of glass wedged in his wound. Great just great he thinks. Given the amount of noise both he and the monkey caused it wouldn’t be long till that man from the next room comes to investigate.
And right on cue, said man steps through the door, eyes widening at Hoseok and the blood coming from his wound. With as much dignity as he could, Hoseok raised his bow, arrow shaking slightly as a fresh wave of pain traveled through his body. He kept his arrow focused on the other.
“If I die I won’t hesitate to bring you down with me, Firefly.”
